I finally got my last gun wagonz and my squigoth from FW last night.

When I looked at them to see if they were moulded right, I noticed that the top half of the squigoth had dark specks all over it.  I assumed that it was just dirt sticking to the mould release agent and thought nothing of it until I cleaned them.

It turns out that the specks are in the resin, but only in the top half of the model.

Is it just a different type of resin?  Or something else (like the mould?)

I'll try again tonight.

I just can't seem to get the contrast right, so the flash hides the black flecks on the white model.

Here is a shot of my Squigoth's Arse.  I hope it shows the speckles.

That's weird. I wonder if particles of something accidentally got mixed in with the resin.

That is SO going to be my signature line...

As to the resin, it does look like something's mixed into it - I've had similar problems when reusing old mixing pots foe resin.

Should'nt be a problem when primed.
Regards,
Reaver

I rarely get the speckles. I don't know for sure how it happens. Perhaps they were sanding something from a different color of resin, and the particulate got into the mixing cup.

It does look like some sort of contamination.

As long as the resin is HARD, there shouldn't be a problem, even with some foreign-matter contamination.  What do you think Fiberglass is, aside from glass fiber cloth "contaminating" some epoxy resin?
