The only way I can navigate these boards is using the "New Posts" function. There are just so many forums and subforums I can never find anything.

So two quick things:

1) The 19th thread in the New Posts is not visible (it's not on page 1 and not on page 2). It's still there, just can't see it (when another thread is added and it becomes the 20th thread you can see it again).

2) Much more generally, do we really need so very many forums? Honestly, you could congomerate all of the sub-forums together and I don't think anyone would have a problem finding anything and it might be possible to find a thread you were looking for.

I find the number of sub-forums very useful.

For example, if I go to the Imperial Guard Rules sub-forum for Epic : Armageddon and search for 'shadowsword', I won't get pictures of peoples' painted Shadowswords, or discussions on how the Shadowsword performs in Netepic, I'll get thoughts about the rules of the E:A Shadowsword...

Indeed. However, NetEpic and Epic Painting and Miniatures are primary forums. Those are obviously necessary divisions.

You realise we have 29 forums for Epic alone?

E&C, I sometimes have a devil of a time finding threads that I've posted, let alone a thread by someone else.

What I'm suggesting is conglomerate the subforums into the primary forums. So painting and modelling would still be distinct from rules. There just wouldn't be a subforum for models and a subforum for terrain. What's the point? Is 6mm modelling really becoming drowned in terrain posts?

There are probably some exceptions - Epic Competitions seems like a subforum that is necessary as is it is quite a nich and not something you want clogging up the regular painting forum - but anything to minimise the number of forums would be great.

The BattleComms forums, for example - there are 23 forums. Really, would the 8 main forums really be too few? Personally I think with the level of traffic these forums get, you could probably clump them into about 5.

Hi. Thanks for your comments. I cant really comment about the 19th thread and its disappearance. I will keep an eye on this, but it does sound strange.

For organisation, this is something that many people have different views on.

BattleComms I would like to leave as it is for now. In time, I have hopes that this area will become much more used, and that it may even expand. The sturcture currently in place will allow this to happen without too many problems. For example, new boards for games can be added easily without changing the layout.

For EpiComms, I have recently compressed the boards and reduced the number - the unofficial and official boards all being combined into a single section.

I am however, open to suggestion on comments about how these boards could be re-structured further, so feel free to let me know what you think would work better.

Thanks.

I find the sub-forums useful as well.

I like the sub-forums - good way to monitor topics and keep them organized.
