Have to say as a long time Epic fan and now player of Cold War Commander, I am now looking forward to the release of Sci-fi Commander.
At least I can guarantee continual developer support for it unlike EA.

Interesting though GW Epic minis have been crossed from the inclusion list, apparently GW aren't playing ball. However the game will include a section for unit creation which will get round this!

It is sad to think I might hang up my Epic gloves but there is now a range of well produced 6mm sci-fi/futuristic minis out there.
Therefore if GW won't support their system, then club players like myself are bound to look at new systems such as Sci-fi commander or Exodus Wars, especially if we can carry-over our existing forces.

What do you mean Epic struck off the list? That might give them a chance of Epic surviving, at least until the Epic lists come out!

Aye, legally allowing dilution of the IP isn't worth the bother... and allowing Andryada & Kratonians in the same rulebook as Space Marines and Tyranids dilutes the IP, technically (legally) speaking...

Gods a Sci-Fi version of warmaster would kill Epic! Enough groups seem to like using the same mechanic for different periods, so why have Epic and Warmaster at your club? :(

Hi!

Perhaps, if executed well enough. It will certainly drag more people away from GW epic rules, since at least these will truly be supported.

BKC/CWC, The Sci-Fi version is going ahead but it is interesting to note that GW have had their name struck off the list.

Hi!

The explanation on the forums was, to avoid GW legalities, they'd include the lists but with non-IP names.

Good move.

Hi!

The rules pwner decided not to deal with any potential GW legalities. So he crossed it off and will be making such "epic" lists, with GW names....

Unpinned.  We moved forward on this in other threads which are now pinned.

If anyone has an objection, let me know and I'll put it back.
