Right, having perused the SG site army list for L&TD, I have come to realise that - my force is a shambles!

But there's one good thing: for once, and just for once, I have a reasonable amount of troops - and am lacking vehicles. My SM, IG and CSM forces all lack vehicles (other than Rhinos!), so there is no abundance of stuff for these chaps still, I have available:
Cultists (including beastmen)
Big mutants (trolls/minotaurs)
demons
An altar
Tzeentch fliers
some Slaanesh and Khorne war machines

It's a beginning.

Later on I'll start pulling stuff out of storage to see what I can come up with.

One question to all and sundry - the demonic riders: they seem to be too formidable to use as Rough Riders. Any ideas?

Other plans - a more modern Nurgle? Streamlined monstrosities? Metal giants? Spleen-shaped defilers?

Looking for some Conquistador types lost in a continent of lead, I dug up (by mistake) the LATD troops :)
Seems to be a few. Just to make sure I don't get lost in a mess of conversions, I will probably start with the troops, if at all possible with a nice, regular common-or-garden coven.
Starting with this email, I will post eh number of point, stands and vehicles completed. Although a handful of vehicles had been completed in the past, I'll only count these when I work on formations which would include them.
So as an example, currently the status is:
P 0
S 0
V 0

Which means  P(oints) S(tands) V(ehicles) all being 0. I've included war machines with vehicles as there are no 'proper titans' here.

Having taken stock of the situation, I can now see that I will have 3 cults of - er - cultists; I have not counted the Beastmen (who will be herded into other cults) yet. Hmm, cult of Tzeentch, cult of Nurgle, cult of Khorne. With the beastmen ganging in to have a couple of cults of Slaanesh led by Minotaurs. I will therefore be having 5-6 cults, it seems. Ah well, not too bad.

And so the dark tendrils of Chaos take the shape of Alpha Legion Space Marines who have infiltrated the volcanic plains of the staid, Imperial outpost of Sordid VII. Their agents have contacted a dissenting faction of workers in the immense manufactoria fields where polished Adamantium-finish hyperspleens are cultivated for the Space Marine Chapters.....

Oh yeah, I forgot:

No, I have not been hyperactive. The vehicles which have appeared in the list are old ones: 1 Deflier, 3 Silver Towers, 1 Plague Tower, 1 Altar of Tzeentch, 2 Doomwheels.

Not on the LADT list: 1 Warp Palace, 1 Tzeentch Groundblade, 1 Radical Inquisitor Arvus, 1 Frogflier Sentinel.

The one stand is new - I have started with the cult leader stands, 1 each for the 4 powers. Here's Nurgle:

Thanks guys - the "magma pools" are the unused blanks in the base of course. The pumicey-stuff is raw Bakelite powder, from our lab. The amount students spill in one lab session is enough for a couple of armies...

The new entry ion the scoreboard lists conversions in the particular category - so for example, I have 12 vehicles completed, 10 of which are conversions.

Meanwhile, after completing a single stand of troops, I have bee dragged down by the warp into YET another conversion - one which will reveal the truth about WH40K.....
???  :confuse:

As I was saying, bang went my intentions to paint loads of stands of troops before getting on to more meaty machines. Ah well.

Right - I've got a big secret to tell. SSSSHHHHHH!  blues:

Warhammer 40K is a cover up.

A cover up for Epic!

We've been told that demon engines are war machines possessed by chaos demons, right?

Well..... that's what all those '28mm scale models' are!  :blues:

SSSSHHHHHH!

They're really war machines in Epic scale, piloted by the Ad Mech or Orks or Eldar......

Or demons!

At any rate, that's what I like to think. So here's what I will be using as my Lord of Battles. Pity his helmet fell off.....  :p

To add more awesome:

Consider removing the yellow zappy part.
Paint something on it a different color (but not green) for visual contrast.

Kick-ass conversion!

Thanks guys. Otter, the 'yellow zappy part' (good description!) came out a bit weird in the photo - it's defocussed, and as a result less fuzzy that it actually is! It's more smoky in nature, and the fuzzy bits around the 'core' cannot be seen here. BUT - I'll try to 'shop it and see how green looks, and then decide :)
