Long time no update, well here goes:

As you can see the legs are beefed up, shoulder mounted weapons and right arm have been added. The front armour will be added soon and will include a few turrets. As for the head...I never really liked the original Gargant head and am pondering to use a tube shaped head, big scary face...something along those gargant heads seen in the Deff Skwadron graphic novel!

Nice. I'd put feet on the legs. I think it would look Orkier.

I have been pondering about that and I might do that. Not sure yet how these feet will look like though. Maybe I will use nuts (as in  'nuts and bolts' ) as feet. With added feet it would indeed look more like some sort of giant industrial walking giant machine/monster.

A nut or something similar might work quite well. By "feet", I didn't necessarily mean "resembling a humanoid foot."

Looks very Orky.

It could be something that a genestealer infected mek might build. ?Orky and buggy all in one  :alien:

Hmm, speaking of Genestealers. I'm planning on creating a squad of Lancer Knights which have fallen to Chaos, the old blue plastic genestealer bodies will be used as a basis. Yeah...mutated machines!

Yowzah!  That'll be interesting to see, all painted up.

As will the stealer-knights. :)

With the genestealer based knights there is only one problem (well at the moment), I noticed that the old Lancer Knight models only had a single weapon on the model, however the current rules state that they also have a Power Lance and a Shock Lance besides the Knight Cannon. I could do two things, either try to find a way to create two weapons which could be considered a Power Lance and a Shock Lance or create a new type of Chaos Knight which only has a single weapon (my preferred option at the moment).

How "official" is the Adeptus Mechanicus list anyway by the way?

As for painting the Gargant up...at the moment I'm sceptical on how to paint it since I'm not really a skilled painter.

AFAIK the shock lance is some kind of energy attack emitted from the knight's head.  Or something like that.

The whole power lance thing confuses me too.  Did knights have it in the previous editions?  If so, how did it work out?  Was it another energy attack?

I found a better solution, reading through the officially approved Chaos list there are Slaanesh Daemon Knights which only have a single weapon (Castigator Cannon), so that problem is solved. Now Im not going to make Slaanesh Knights but probably Undivided (Alpha Legion aligned) or Nurgle (still aligned to the Alpha Legion).

Correct, the Shock Lance is an energy attack. Per fluff, as a Knight moves its kinetic energy charges what I presume is some sort of capacitor, which is I believe in its head, and is discharged in close combat. So, there's no need to model it.
