Yes, Most pics and even modeling books show it as a dark green or dark gray-green. All the GHQ pics of that camo show it as a dark green/gray-green ...     Nice model too ... what scale is it ?

i want to be as historical as i can, but no one can seem to agree about the colours used so ive used a bit of artistic licence, two shades of blue as per the bovington cruiser, for no other reason than i reckon it looks good :D

i dont know what scale that model is.....iknow im useless, i cant even find the site i got the pic from!!!
:confuse:

Well that makes sense, at least you have seen the camo "in the flesh" ...  Yes, that is a nice Matilda, I'm guessing 1/48 scale, no matter really. It's a good example.

Looks great, "Yorkie" !  Just like on the GHQ site !  And thanks for the cool link, some neat painting on the A9s, A10s, etc. ... The Mk.VI Light in the Sudan scheme is unique. I will have to see a pic of the Sudanese desert to figure out why they chose purple and Tan !  :D

Your Matilda came out beautifully, Yorkie, and I remember looking at that display version at Boivington a few years back. ?Aussies used them extensively both in Africa and in the Pacific (well, where we could anyway).

PS I'm with L4, I think the desert sucks too! ?Nowhere near a sufficient quantity of quality waterways or local lovelies! ? :D  Once was enough for me...

I had a 1/72 Matilda, a buddy painted green with Aussie markings for in the Pacific. It was sold along with the rest of my WWII collection.  To a collector, so they are in good hands ! And I saved that link, Yorkie. So you all don't be surprised if some of my future IG AFVs are in the Sudan camo (purple & tan) !   :D  And for all the reasons Tas mentioned and more - I hate Desert Ops ! :O
