Here in NZ I just recently got a whole lot of tiddly wink counters from a toy shop to do my L&D army with.

$2 NZ  (about 0.7 GBP) for 50 of them. 22mm diameter circular plastic tokens, (slightly larger than the ones I used to base my tyranids). Well worth considering if you can get hold of them.

I can get 50 2p pieces for a pound :) a tiny bit more expensive but have a nice wieght and they are easy to get hold of. There isn't any toy shops in Cambridge.

Yeah my main thought was just that it's easier for 6mm figures to be damaged if they are on heavier metal bases as opposed to the light plastic.  I guess if you're careful it should be ok.

Strangely it hasn't been a major problem, they actually fall on their base most of the time, don't know why.


Need to find some mid size washers though for the Large Creatures like Exocrines, as they don't fit well on the 2p

I've based some of my nids on 2p bases. However I tend to agree with Marcko: Particularly the Hormogaunt is very fragile so a lighter base may be usefull there...

Can't wait to see what you come up with Ratty :)
