I mean, I hate it.

They removed ALL Tau escorts.*
They removed ALL Necron escorts.
They removed ALL dedicated Space Marine escorts. **
and a couple else.

* I think Forgeworld Tau fleet sold way higher because of much better prices. The FW fleet was half as cheap as the metal SG variants.

** Forgeworld still produces them.

So Necrons got really killed. The other two have a weak life line.

On top of that, within BFG's high admirality they didn't know how worse it was. GW cares crap about SG. No announcement on SG page. Grrr

On the other hand:
Warp Rift will continue, fan support is still great and I can't dissapoint ~15000 downloads a month!

Well I saw on the History Channel, according to the Mayan or Aztec calendar, the world will end in 2012. So S/G has until then to get their act together ! :)  But if I was in Vegas I'd have to put my $/? on the Aztec prediction !!!   S/G =  DRM & E/W = :D  Just my opinion !  But what do I know ?! :;):

I think you're right... SG will be pretty much dead by 2009.

Then again, I'm an optimist. We might see SG resurface again as a semi-independent-Forgeworld-like company. The slow lingering death may lead to another apotheosis. This is our best - and only - hope.

Unfortunately, the fact that Black Industries has gone down the pan, despite the new 40K RPG selling out in moments, doesn't leave me very optimistic.

Most of the main ganger miniatures are still available. The 8 pictured for each gang box are a random selection, and you recieve 8 random miniatures from the full selection when purchasing a gang box.

Really? I was wondering, since I actually ordered three different gang boxes sometime ago while the individual models were still available and each box had the same leader, heavy stubber, four gangers and two juves that the original gang boxes had way back when Necromunda first came out. And all the boxes apart from Van Saar (and Goliaths and Orlocks, but those are the new sculpts, the old ones having been removed a long time ago) say "8 models", not "8 random models". Can anyone confirm?

Although I suppose it doesn't really matter, since I own most of the Necromunda range and won't try getting any missing ones via randompacks. It'd be like buying D&D minis or collectible card games.

Could be worse, Battle of Five Armies has had everything apart from the main box removed. Didn't remember to check it earlier, since I completely forgot it even existed.

It would be wrong of us to leak any kind of conceptial source material from our fluff bible. Especially if it happened to be Guild starships, based around the Hellenic era.

So unfortunately we cannot start any rumours about work on Guild, Empire and Khazari fleets. In no way can we make any kind of suggestion that after playing an excess of Starmada: Admiral Edition I got kinda hooked.

I'm sorry to disappoint ;).

Starmada is a great game.  Are those going to be 3d sculpted? They're awful nice.

I think Net:EA and those who support it are being proved right day by day with these GW decisions.

Indeed and I would like to add that, as Primarch as mentioned earlier, any Net:AE game that is not a complete rewrite is going to get in legal trouble from GW.

I have this directly from sources at GW.

Hey... if anyone wants to get working on DRM stats for the Epic armies I am interested in and will be willing to volunteer some server space to a wiki or other software to help make the process move quicker.

Hi!

Doesn't surprise me that this would be their stance. Even while they don't support EA they would view any fan driven effort more hostilely and set the "legal bar" much higher and in my view nitpick a lot more on it in order to stifle it on inception. NetEA due to GW's current circumstances will need to be VERY careful regarding GW's IP. They're feeling somewhat vulnerable due to their financial situation and I don't think they are feeling very "charitable" to the fan base right now.

Netepic was able to get away from this early on because GW was promoting a newer version (epic 40k) and, quite frankly, didn't think netepic would have any staying power. They didn't think it was much of a competition.

Like PG emphasizes, whatever is done a TOTAL REWRITE is must if you want to avoid legal tangles with GW.

Hi!

Now, now, I responsible reporter never reveals his sources....  :;):

All I have to say is that any current fan based support on any GW current rules system will need to be very, very careful.

Lots of heads are rolling with GW's current restructuring and cost cutting.

I'm thinking their lawyers are itching for a chance to prove they "earn their keep", and are not beneath going after any perceived infringement, even fan's from a "dead" game.
