I wanted to use the FW Leman Russ hulls for my cadian army, so I made a resin conversion 'kit' for them, consisting of a turret and two sponsons.

I'm also using ork big gunner guns to replace the lascannons as I think the ones that come on them look a bit fragile.

On a related note, I'm looking for five plastic ork gunnerz. :D

Silly E&C! If you can make resin conversion kits, you can make plastic ork lascannon bitz.

This was a project on my 'someday' list. I'm glad you beat me to it, so now I don't have to spend time on it. Job's a good 'un!

Yes but as you say I'm silly, so I want to swap or trade for them. :D

Really great looking castings.  I hope someday to be half as good.

I've been getting some advice from a chap at Forgeworld... his biggest piece of advice is to buy a vacuum chamber however, ho ho ho. I have gotten some good advice though.

Many years ago, there was a guy who posted occasionally that had a vacuum chamber.  If my swiss cheese memory is to be trusted, he was a dentist and was able to do things like use his office equipment and get dental cement for cheap.  He did some neat stuff and had a thread where he talked about using the vacuum with tips and such.  I seem to recall him producing terrain pieces (lots of sandbag emplacements, iirc).

That was before the Great Epicomms Meltdown, though.  I doubt CS has the archives anywhere handy...

Nice !  Upgrading your force !  :D  And I agreed, the frakkin' F/W barrels are too frakkin' fragile !  Give that advice to your F/W Buddies ! :O  And you can replace those Orky Hvy Wpns barrels with anything, they're Orks for crying out loud !  :alien:   But again great conversions !  :D

Aye they know, but they have this odd policy of having all their Epic sculpts exactly one fifth the size of the 40k sculpt, regardless of the practical considerations.

Sometimes I think some of their stuff would be better done in metal!

But again great conversions !

Cheers, I'm aiming to do a full 10 for a Leman Russ company, which is why I'm casting them rather than converting every one by hand.

I agree, with that E&C !  Metal would be better !  The new resin they are using now, may make some difference.  But got all my F/W Epic before that.  However, even though I complain, I've had very few brake !  :D

Sweet conversions!
May be it?s just me, but I don?t like the FW Leman Russ!
The turrets are great, but the tracks are way to small!
