Hi!

A "standard" epic table, should have opponents separated by 80cms from setup line to setup line. This needs a 4 foot wide table. Narrower tables make certain weapons "better" since you don't need to move. A wider table forces movement.

you are right, but there are 3 main categories 50, 75 and 100 cm range. 80 cm between 2 sides mean, that if your oppoent doesn`t move, you need most 100 cm weapons to cause damage. especialy if you play squats because you have to add 25cm to the range. in al our games the side won which could cause reduce te opponent in the first ff phase...and this is logical, because if i have 4.00 points army and my opponent reduce 1.500 points in the first ff i just have 2.500 to fire back.

Hi!

But that's the advantage of 100cm weapons and the advantage squats need due to low numbers.

But the majority of long range weapons in the game fall between 50-75cm range which require movement on a 80cm+ wide table. If you look at which armies have weapons over 75cm, they are shooting armies that need that advantage and even then they only have one or two units which such an ability.
