I'm not sure that a combined EA / NetEpic background forum would be a good idea, as NetEpic has a different background to Epic Armageddon, and even a different background to Space Marine.

It is happening... excellent... (Burns imitation)

Should the 'Epic trades' be under 'Epic Painting and Miniatures'? That would be where to look for it.

And I still say that all chaos should be clumped together :] And Eldars and...

OK. So, I have made a first attempt at this. A few points:

1. Yes, I know that people wont like the fact that even though all of the force development boards are in the same section, some have an 'official' status label and others are 'fan'. I do see your point here, but I also think that (right now) this distinction still exists and that it is important that it is kept clear. New members should be aware that discussion in an official board may make its way into the SG sanctioned list, while discussion in a fan board most likely will not.

2. I am sure that this restructure will result in a number of threads now being in the incorrect board. This is probably most common with battle reports. I would be grateful if when you find one of these you post here with a link, so that I can move the obvious ones without spending hours going through every board.

3. NetEpic now has its own dedicated section, and this includes the web site board and a new battle report section.

Now, how have I done, and what comments do you guys have?

Thanks.

Might I suggest a "Forces of Chaos (Fan)" section in the army lists forums for all the Cult Marines, Alpha Legion, other Traitors, and such?

May i suggest an Adeptus Astartes (official) board for BlackTemplar and BloodAngels even that there aren't any discussions on this board, yet?
Salamanders would be cool too but this is not my decision :D

Nice work Iain. I'll get a list of my battle report threads for you as soon as I can. Will be interesting to see how many each individual has posted actually.  :)  And each country...!

So far rpr is winning with 6...
And Finland with 7.  :D

I agree actually. Hena's proposed slight modifications to the board organisation make a lot of sense.

Rarther than having all of the other fans collected in one area, why not have it so that you have a them collected with the corect spieces.  For example

Imperial
     ->official
            ->marines
            ->guard - steel legion
            ->guard - siege masters
            ->AMTL
     ->Fan
            ->guard - Tank regiment
            ->guard - Cadian
            ->marines - scions of iron

Eldar
     ->official
            ->Bel tan
     ->Fan
            ->Dark eldar
            ->Sain Hain
            ->exodite
and so on.

That way all of the closely realated lists are near to each other for quick cross referancing.

Imperial
     ->official
            ->marines
            ->guard
            ->AMTL
     ->Fan

I think that there is not enough traffic in general to spread stuff to too many groups - the subject should be enough and in case of Chaos, for example, discussion of Defiler affects all chaos lists and so on. This is also why I do not myself like the official/fan distinction, but well that is just me :]

And about re.org: yet again I propose that "Epic trades" should be in same place as "miniatures" (although I know that you could trade just rulebooks, but...)

I like Hena's idea to. Board traffic has dropped a lot and those armies do have cross cutting stuff.

Sorry for letting this go for a while...

Marine (fan) and Chaos (fan) boards - I have not added these right now. Any lists can be posted in the 'other' board for now, and I can create new boards when and if they are needed.

I have decided not to move the existing battle reports to the new board yet. New reports can be posted in the correct place, but I dont think that there is a need to move previous reports - particularly where these are currently housed in AC boards with comments on the list development. If people do want these moved, just let me know.

Remind about those proposed merging of boards from Henas post shortly, and we can see how traffic works. I am a little concerned that it will mean several different threads on a number of different topics in different lists, which may make things difficult to follow.

Unfortunately, we cant have more than two levels of board here.

CS - can you look into the search function against the revised layout please. I have had some wierd results trying to find some of the older threads (up to 2 years old) and suspect this may be due to the way they have been relocated.
