I had a lot of good times... and terrible times... playing SM2/TL, so I voted for it.
That said, I doubt I'll ever play it again. Epic:A has really impressed me.

Hi!
The funny thing is if you phrase the poll as which has the "better designed" rules, I'd agree epic A hands down.
But gaming brings an interesting conundrum....
...the best rules don't necessarily mean the most "fun" game.
I don't like the more recent rules because the "zaniness" of the 40k universe isn't present in them.
The joys of guessing distances for your pulsa rokkit... Will that wierdboys head explode..... Will mortarions death wind spread through that enemy unit or will the first one save and stop it.... Will thousand sons get close enough to use the vortex... Will that darn warlock psi-lock my titan... again!! Will that titan barrage missile annihilate the enemy or go bust.....
They go on and on.....
I don't get that with better designed rules. Granted some of those rules are a royal pain, instigator of a thousand and one arguments...
..but GOD WE HAD FUN WITH THEM!!
For me the fun factor should be the "ultimate" design goal and sometimes "streamlined" rules may not deliver what some may want.
As with all things subjective, you mileage may vary.

i had to choose E:A but i also have played titans legions(not my own set as i was considered too young when it came out!), i mean how can you resist massive titans blowing each other up!

E:A, Because its fluid, fun and feels properly rooted in the 40k universe.
Started WFB recently (mainly for a different painting experience) and im stunned by how cumbersome the rules are by contast to E:A!
ps- on the other systems- IMO SM2 felt rather clunky, particularly the CC system and E:40k was too abstracted (though as a game design was almost a work of art!). Never tried any others

E:A for me! E40k was too much the detachment meta game and far too absract with the flat firepower/anti tank system. SM+TL too paper heavy with all the counters and such. missed the editions before this..
