I note yet no-one has called for robots to come back... :)

Perhaps in the tech-guard list....

I want a crack at the Skitarii / Tech Guard. :)

My vote is:

* Blarg starts a development thread.

* TRC starts a development thread.

If, in the end, they are conceptually close enough to be compatable, then they can do a collaboration version similar to the way TRC and Black Legion worked on the Salamander list.

I have the Knight list one of the guys I play with drafted that tested pretty well.  I'll be happy to share it if anyone's interested.

...Movement wise the idea of infiltrate kept coming up only to go away again.

Well, I was in favor of the 20cm move + Infiltrate because that made the knight have the same movement ability as cavalry (Rough Riders).

Unfortunately, that would make them significantly slower than warhounds and everyone else's tanks. Would 25cm move + infiltrate be an option, or is that too fast on the charge?

That would give them the ability to redeploy rapidly while still performing their main role of assaulting. Or maybe just make it so they go the same speed as an average tank (30cm) and be done with it.

I'd like to see the return of robots, too. I think they fit in well with a Tech Guard/Skitarii list.

Well, it depends are what people intend when they say "Let have robots in the list."

Do they mean, "lets have a unit called Robots"? If so, then that is probably okay.

Or do they mean, "lets have a unit called robots that has some weird 'programming' rules"? If this is what people are talking about, I think there might be some opposition to said robots.

Although, if it was something simple like robots being given orders at the beginning of every turn instead of when they are activated, that might work.

Still, it risks skewing into the realm of over-fiddly-ness (and would only work if the formation was all-robot).

I personally have no problems with robots, and would love to see them used in the game.  The problem is that supposedly the guys at GW want to write them out of the background completely, I forget the details.

Assuming that robots are out, I see that we have three options:

1) Forget GW and put them in, we'll do as we damn well please.
2) Put robot miniatures into the game but refer to them by a different name, such as cyborgs, light servitor engines, mechanicha, or some other name.
3) Drop the idea of robots all together.

Personally, I'm for either option 1 or 2.

I was thinking that whatever order you gave to the 'Robots' at the begining of the game would have to stand for the entire game; Thus if their first order was to Advance, then in every subsequent turn they must also use the 'Advance' order.

Or just make them a normal formation... :)

2) Put robot miniatures into the game but refer to them by a different name, such as cyborgs, light servitor engines, mechanicha, or some other name.

I was thinking of going with this one.

Just make then Praetorians/Heavy Combat Servitors and be done with it... the Skitarii use such things in the fluff... and it lets us use the models...

The Black Library book Dark Apostle has quite  interesting bits for a Tech Guard army. It list quite a lot of servitor types and othe mechanicus equipment

Some time ago i posted my version of the stats Knights should have on this board.
I made them 2DC We by the way :)
And i made my own stats for the Titanweapons based on the descriptions and rules of Adeptus Titanicus (the box with the Imperator titan).

I second this motion. All in favour say I.

And yes I would like to see the Knight list Neal - could it be posted to the resource page perhaps?
