Recommendations:

Blur or otherwise distort the fliers. This should give a better impression of their distance.

If possible, make shadows on the miners falling to the lower left. That will 'tie' them more to the ground. At first glance, I thought they were flying.

I agree with O-man: A suggestion would be to lower contrast and change brightness settings slightly for objects further away.

Again shadows would also help. Since the lightsource appears to be from the rear you could also hand paint some shadows on the parts of the vehicles facing the ground.

The last thing you might want to tinker with is the color balance: The overall color tome of the image is slightly blueish. However the lighting on the vehicles is reddish. Adjust one of these to make them more even. Personally I find it more fun to alter the colors of the landscape for a more alien look. I'd recomend doing this in two steps: 1: Make sure the overall color tones on all layers are similar (Neutral color). 2: flatten the image and make color adjustments. Now you can make more radical adjustments without anything looking too out of place.

And, lest you despair, some words of encouragement.

I like the 'lift rings' that the droid controllers are emitting.

I like the mining/shock effects the miners are creating.

The choice of scenery is good, especially the contrasting craters (chaos) and road (order).

thanks guys. I see your point o-man and WMN. I think anohter one of my problem was having by accident hidden a layer with dusty effect behind the 1st layer. oops. Ill do the shadows and see what happens, and then after changing from bluish to reddish or vice versa isnt a big deal.

Might be from me chap, I tend to use 'spiffing' as another word for awesome, superb, top notch and rather good.

It's also ironic that Funky was a word that originally meant smells bad, and seems to have become a word that means groovy.
