The paint job is really really good.. . Thumbs up.. however not so sure on the base size, it looks off to me... I would have went with a 2p piece.

Thanks for the kind comments. Hopefully I'll have some more to show soon.
The bases comment is one I'll have to think about. Currently they're on Warmaster bases and I rather like the fact that they afford the model a little 'protection' but I might make up a couple of round bases to try out as a comparison and I'll post it here for comment. They'd certainly be easy enough to snap off the bases they're currently on.

Looks like you've got a good clean base coat there.

I tend to not like bases on vehicles but yours are very well done!

Thanks again for the encouragement. I'm going to need it if I'm to finish the 3000 pts of guard I've got lined up with enough enthusiasm to get me to start the 3000 pts of Orks that are lined up to face them!
@Cuban C: The base colour (on both sets of tanks) is based on Carl Woodrow's planes (see dropship for details). Basically it's as follows:
Spray Black Wash with Space Wolf Grey (50/50 with water) Paint with thin Kommando Khaki. My pot is thin anyway but to get a smooth effect I water it down some more and apply a couple of coats.
That gets you to the point at which the Shadowswords are in the above picture.
Next (tonight!) they get a wash. I'm using 20% brown ink, 20% flesh ink, 10% Kommando Khaki and 50% water.
Then it's time to repaint them Kommando Khaki which I blend with Bleached bone for the highlights. At that point the tank is ready for details/camo etc.
I'm pretty sure that there are quicker ways to get the same effect!
I'll throw up another pic tonight which hopefully will show the Shadowswords at this stage.
