Guys,

May I delete all of this "hand and appendage" line of joking without stepping on your toes?

It doesn't add much to the thread?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I don't have a problem with it :), delete away. In fact I am honoured that you were polite enough to ask first ;), sign of a good moderator... we did kinda stray off topic there.

Feel free to delete this one as well.

please do not censor the posts

one of the things I like about this forum that it can and will go off-topic

I also don't agree that posts should be deleted even if they are OT

Hi!

I don't mind Maksim, since I and some others have the tendency to spin of topic alot and indulge in a healthy amount of "silliness".

But I do agree with Jimbo that it is part of the forum's charm, we are all pretty laid back and enjoy each others conversation and we dont degenerate into flame wars or other such nonsense, so I think its okay to "let it run its course", there is no real harm done.

In any event I promise to be a good little boy and not prolongue threads to far.  :D

Jimbo,

please do not censor the posts

OK. I was thinking that if everyone was OK with it, it would be fine. I'm not against OT posts per se, but once in awhile I like to clean up threads with permission.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

Actually you could do this once the topic has died down and say a couple of weeks has passed since the last post. That way only threads with information that needs to be referenced later on need be saved.

It would save a lot of bandwith.

actually the bandwidth argument is not quite right as if no one is looking at it, it ain't using bandwidth, the only thing it is taking up is storage and as it is only text I doubt it takes up more than a Meg!!!

Ultimately, I'm willing to stand down as moderator and return to being just a poster if I have some people angry with me who aren't telling me.

Ultimately, I keep an open mind and if anyone has concerns about my performamce as moderator, please feel free to either E-mail, post publicly, or otherwise let me know if I am doing something that upsets you. I'm happy to make changes and am a flexible person. I promise that I will read and politely reply to any E-mails sent to me.

I repect Jimbo for telling me he was upset with my mistake and can (and did) apologize and move on.

Being a moderator is sort of a thankless job that I took on to help out.

I like playing, modelling, and talking about Epic more than moderating! :)

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

I think your moderating is alright, just don't bother editing posts or changing them. I think the job just involves keeping flame wars from erupting, otherwise keep a low profile.

Thats what I do on the netepic list and it works well.

I'm with primarch

moderation is about moderating and not editing

a moderator moderates he does not edit or change

there is a difference

Definition

One that moderates, as:
One that arbitrates or mediates

Maksim I have no problem with your moderating, please carry on usual :). I know that sometimes I ramble on and have no problem with people deleting posts that are unnecessary.

To be honest if you didn't then I could probably go on for months :p. Feel free to delete any of my posts or PM me if I am going on a bit :).

Okay. I can deal with that if that's the will of the community.

Please accept my apology and resignation as moderator if that is your desire.

I would gladly tender my resignation as moderator if it meant that either Jimbo or Primarch would grant me their good graces again and restore their faith in the community. I have no problem whatsoever accepting responsibility for my actions and dealing with the consequences.

Again, I'm happy being a member of the community and moderation was an extra responsibility that is unnecessary.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

P.S.
This would happen right when I'm reading the part of the Illiad where Agamemnon sacrifices his daughter Ifegenaia to the gods for good winds for his fleets! ?:(

Thanks, friend.

P.S.
I didn't tell you that I'm a speed reader. Achilles has just slain Hector. I wish it were Paris instead. Darn Greek dramas!  :(
