I was thinking, how about including a couple of spacecraft in the list?

I figured the lunar cruiser as-is, since it has both barrage and pinpoint attacks, and maybe the Oberon battleship (with 8 BP orbital barrage and 1xMW2+ TK(D6) pinpoint attack). If you don't want anything new, just go with the Emperor battleship ( I just think the Oberon would be better at conveying the tech level of an AM fleet).

I don't think the list needs them, except for the fact that every other race gets spacecraft, and the adeptus mechanicus should be no exception. And hey, they have the virtue of being available.

I think it'd be rather cool to get the new Adeptus Mechanicus battleships into this list... if there's ever an army champion for it again.


When does Net:E:A start appointing army champions then? :)

Need? Thats's not really the issue.

Should all races have spacecraft? maybe, maybe not

Should the Adeptus Mechanicus have spaceships? Definitely
Should the Adeptuc Mechanicus have enough spacecraft to routinely dispatch them? Probably not.
Should the Adeptus Mechanicus have enough spacecraft to routinely dispatch them in support of a Titan Legion? I say yes, but whatever your personal opinion is, I think you would agree this is the question that should determine whether AMTL deserve spacecraft.

[in any case, I may be offbase in saying this, but SMs are about the only army that actually use their spacecraft routinely. I'm just thinking about including them here for completeness sake]

The list is based ontje Legio Voctorum operating on Armageddon. Right? So this is justification engough to allow the same spacecrafts as in the SteelLegion army from the rulebook.

More to the point, the ownership and use of starships is a veritable -necessity- of Titan Legions, given that they are maintained and housed entirely on Forge Worlds (And the very occasional extremely important high-industrial Hive World like Armageddon), and use starships exclusively as a way of moving titans to their prospective battlefields. While the list definitely doesn't -require- them, giving them access to handler ships would be kinda nice, and very fitting. The titans gotta get to the planets they're gonna be fighting on somehow, after all!

My Eldar resent that statement.  Your patheticly slow and lumbering mon-keigh ships are no match for our sleek, graceful craft.   :;):

I think it would be cool to see every list except Feral Orks have access to some form of Spacecraft, even though I personally find them rather useless in the actual game (having to pre-plot everything except the odd Pinpoint attack makes them rather silly sometimes).

Even the 'Nids should get Spacecraft...but instead of Pinpoint attacks, they should get Spore Mine Barrages and Mycetic Spore drops.  On the turn the Hive Mind send it over, they drop a Barrage and d3 (or maybe even d6 for the really big Hive Ships) Tyranid Swarms get to add an extra d3 to their Spawning Rolls that turn.

That would be pretty cool.   :cool:

But the Titans should definitely have some form of transport...even if its just access to the Imperial Navy.

In epic spaceships have two uses-
deployment and barrage

- I can't really see AM drop podding titans into combat zones so that role would seem unnecessary

- barrages - what are they providing that a titan or ordinatus can't do?

Actually, there is an Tyranid army list that gets a spacecraft.  The Phase III 'Attack' list, and it can be found here.

I updated it for the current rules and submitted it as one of my armies for the Epic Army Competition.

If it doesn't win, I'll be posting it on these boards for playtesting!

Yes - I had forgotten about that

I'm not sure how balanced a list would be that could droppod a titan into your deployment zone

Vanvlak - when Horus is lured to Davin? - wherever he is wounded that starts his corruption, the Sons of Horus are supported by the Dies Irae (Imperator) which drop pods in

The HH series explains how Titans get planetside.

Giant, Freaking, Drop Pods!


Well, they're more like hardened transport space craft that are just big enough for a single Titan... in one chapter they drop an Imperator titan and two Warlords onto a planet directly into a combat situation via drop pods.


I expect in Epic you'd be paying ~300-500 points for your mega drop pod of doom. :D
