hi,
first, my english isn't so well at writing ;) but i hope you can understand me.
I will do my best.

I have a few questions about snap fire:
The rules say if a enemy unit move into sight, you may activate a unit to snap fire.

My question: can a already activ unit preform snap fire?
How many snap fire actions can one unit preform?

Or must i activate a inactiv unit to preform snap fire.
Remain the unit activ?

Can i active more than one unit to preform snap fire to fire on the same unit, in the same turn?
Or can i only activate one unit to preform snap fire per enemy movement?

Second question about point defense:
My Unit have advance orders. If i do not use the point defense ability in the movement phase, can i use the point defense in the first fire segment and use the main weapon later in the advance fire segment?

Thank you.

Ok, Snap Fire:

Firing unit must be on First Fire.  A Unit can only Snap Fire once, so no, an already activated unit can't snap fire.  You must activate a unit that has First Fire orders and that has not been activated already.  The rules state that only 1 unit may be activated to Snap Fire at a target.

PD - No, the rules say PD may be used in the Combat Phase when the unit makes its' normal ranged attacks.

Thank a lot for your answer.

One more question to snap fire.
I may not ativate more than one unit to preform snap fire.

But, if my unit preform snap fire at a enemy unit, and this enemy unit moves again into sight of another of my units, can this unit stop the enemy movement again to preform snap fire?

I'm not sure but I suspect the intent of the rules is really Yes you can shoot at it with multiple units.  However, reading the rules strictly as written, the answer is No, the enemy unit may only be targetted by one unit using Snap Fire.

I guess I can see some justification for this from a gameplay perspective....maybe.

Primarch, can you remember if that wording was deliberate?

Hi!

Actually you can fire as may units that are on first fire as are eligible to shoot.

Of course, some may think this is a great idea and spend many units first fire to fire and destroy a unit that has just moved.

However, in my experience, this leaves your army naked of supporting fire for later in the game.

Its a decision the player must make. How much units I will use to snap fire and how many will I save for later support fire.

As usual the choice is up to the player.

you are absolutly right. you make a big decision by activating a maximum units to shoot first fire.

since we have played netepic everyone of us is always very carefully by activating units to shoot snap fire. you make a big decision by doing so because you have to balance the -1 to hit modifier and do not forget that barrage units like most preatorians can not snap fire their barrage weapons...and you loose that barrage shot!

You must activate a unit that has First Fire orders and that has not been activated already.

In my opinion, an unit activated in FF could Snap Fire, as it has not already played.
Else, if you have much fewer units that your opponant, you could be denied using Snap Fire as you have to activate all your units before he moves the unit you want to Snap Fire.
