Over the last few months I've been going through my bits box trying to find uses for the dreck that's left. After seeing mustangsailing's decimator built from four landraiders I wanted to see if I could use just one. Here's the results!



I chopped the sides off the landraider, and also chopped off the track sections from the top. This makes the decimator lower than a landraider, and gives me a piece of track I can insert into the bottom after cutting each side in half vertically. Bits of plasticard were used to make the sides. The guns are old 40k chaos autocannons.

I had a bunch of old sentinel legs that I used to make defilers:


Here's a feral titan (Revenant for scale)


I've had this old genestealer body (no arms, no head) and was going to toss it out when I thought, hey, this looks a bit like a warhound! so I chopped it up, stuck the two halves of a multi-melta from the old landspeeder on for weapons, gave it a plastic skaven head, and voila! damn cheap feral titan.

UPDATE: I ripped off the old tentacles and put on less OTT ones instead. I think it's better.

Two Deathwheels:


Made from plastic cartwheels, leftover track sections and vehicle hatches. The weapons are 40k plasma pistols and Space Crusade heavy bolters. I plan to add a couple of lasguns to represent the reaper cannons.

Imperial robots + green stuff, the Audrey Ewing way.

I *really* like the Defilers!  I'm going to have to go through my old bits and see if I can find any of those old Sentinels!

Thanks Chroma. The bodies are made from imperial robots but I think most anything would do for that. I didn't find anything good to use for the defiler head - ended up using a beastman head, but I'm not very happy with them. I might replace them with chaos champion heads.

Good work, phil. I really like your idea of using Sentinel legs for a Defiler. I might borrow that idea.

I have to admit I think the sentinel leg defilers will be the easiest conversion I've seen.  I know I can't be the only one with loads of them lying about.  They also have autocannons that could easily be used for the Reaper cannons on the body.

I think I'm actually going to have to make some now...

Seconded. It instantly brings Slaanesh to mind. Proof that you really don't need boobies or...  :devil:

The Defiler is outstanding. One of the cleverest use of bitz I've seen so far. And around here that's saying something!  :cool:

And the Decimators are excellent as well. Did I say I really like those Defilers? The only thing I'd add to the Defilers is to cut off the "side toes" of the legs used as claws and replace them with some plasticard pieces.
