I would also like to welcome Sethie and Shuriben.  It's great to know that we have some more French participants checking in.

If any of the folks from France are up to it, a thread recapping exactly what has been happening on the French boards would be awesome.

My thoughts also. I got lost trying to work it out from the French forum unfortunately.

And yes welcome to Sethie and Shurben  :)

Thanks vanvlak, markconz and Neal for the warm welcome!

We should be able to launch a thread very soon about the results of our discussions on the french boards. Hojyn should be our "ambassador", if he's up to it.

We have now updated three armies: eldar, IG and Marines. Three others are actively discussed (orks, BL, L&D). We didn't start the others yet (you guys are moving too fast!).
The experimental rules are widely accepted (barrage, hit allocation, garrison, assault resolution, antigrav), except for the aircraft rules (not discussed yet... and my understanding is a new draft will be out soon, so we will just wait for this I guess), and a "house rule" hojyn made for teleportation.
All other rules modification have been discarded, because we don't want to end with french b?ta E:A 2.0.

Don't expect tremendous and surprising changes: many of our ideas have been initiated on this board. I must even say that I'm not surprised to see that many changes we've made are leading the polls/threads here: demolisher MW4+, Vultures 90cm AT 3+, Supa stompa 300 pts, 1 commissar every 500 pts, and so on... because if it's popular among us frenchies, there is no reason it should not be popular here, as I doubt "frenchness" plays a part on epic related matters!

I fully support this move. I dare say that the whole German community does, too.

While we are on the topic, a summary thread from you guys that frequent the German boards about what the German community has been doing in regards to the rules would be appreciated as much as a French summary thread.

Count me in!

As Morg said the German community more or less uses the "common experimental rules" most people seem to agree upon. In my last game we used Markconz' revised rulebook (thanks at this place, you are da man! ;-) ) and I think this will be the rules set we play in the near future.

We are sticking to what is decided on TacComms. There isn't much playtesting going on to my knowledge because the majority of the players are distributed over the country. Recently more and more players are emerging (side effect of Apocalypse?) to see the light ;)

There are plans to translate Markconz handbook into German which would make it the de facto rulebook.
