Nice one D/S. May it be the first of many!!

Have you played many games with AMTL? Did you post you bat-rep in AMTL playtest thread?

Cheers

James

I thought about that after we played the game, sorry we didn't get a Bat-Rep in.

I really felt under gunned against the force but that probably had a lot to do with the fact that we were using 2100 point lists.

Thanks, WI. I hope it's the first of many as well.  :)

I've played a total of three games with AMTL, but one of them doesn't count because it was the massive game I played last October with Moscovian and Suvarov, where we each had 17k points. I haven't posted any batreps, because I'm not sure how valid they would be since I'm still getting the feel of how to play E:A properly. However, the list does seem fairly balanced and gives the player lots of options when crafting an army.

It probably didn't help either that your army was infantry-heavy.

Next time we play, we'll have try to to remember to write a batrep.

True

But anything that might help kick start the AMTL playtest list is good.

Cheers

Here I am sitting at my desk at work, minding my own business, and I heard this rumbling overhead, like the sound of a piston-engined plane. I look out my window and much to my delight I saw a B-17G flying by. I never get tired of seeing WWII planes.  :)

There's a municipal airport about ten miles from where I work. Every autumn B-17s and B-24s that tour the US land there and stay a couple of days for people to see. For a $15 "donation" you can go through the planes. I guess they were early this year.

Last year there was a B-25 also.

Thre is something you dont see eeryday DS - brilliant!

I recall one time coming into Portsmouth habrour in my Destroyer, the Frigate HMS LANCASTER was in front of us returning home from a six month deployment in the Persian Gulf. ?She had the last remaining Lancaster bomber doing flypast on top. ?Fantastic!  :D

Now that must've been cool to see. I didn't know there is only one flyable Lanc left. It's a shame. Then again, I believe there is only one airworthy B-29 left.  :(

On a more positive note, I played another game with Dave yesterday, 3000 points, my Titan Legion against his Bugs. I'll spare the details, because Dave should be posting a BatRep for it. He even had enough forethought to bring his digicam.  :) It was the first time I played against Tyranids in E:A.

Hopefully I can get the battle report up tomorrow, we'll see.  It was another close game.

Dave and I played yet another close game yesterday. It was my Titan Legion vs. his Nids. He won 2-0 after turn 3, despite my best efforts to kill as many bugs as possible, in particular synapse critters. I'll save the details for Dave's BatRep.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the current version of AMTL. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is a paucity of disrupt weapons, which really doesn't matter against Tyranids, but could handy against other armies.

Hi D/S

What army did you take for AMTL?

Whenever I played AMTL vs Nids (in earlier versions of Epic) I got swamped and tied down by their smaller critters before being beaten up in close combat. Or rather dragged down like Gulliver.

Did you fare any different?

Cheers

James

Take a look here for a BatRep from August:

BatRep: AMTL vs. Tyranids

Dave should posting another BatRep soon. We played last Sunday and I had virtually the same force. Facing Nids is pretty intimidating, because of the huge number of stands, especially when you consider spawning. On the other hand, Nids need to be able to spawn, otherwise I probably would have annihilated Dave's army if he didn't have a steady flow of reinforcements.

It occurred to me that the next time Dave and I play, I really need to come up with another army composition for AMTL to try out different features of the list.
