No and no.

I have the feeling some of you don't  or doesn't want to understand me.

I?m pretty sure I understand you, but I?m also pretty sure you do not understand my reason behind my harsh post (nothing against you personally :) ) Let?s discuss this in a personal manner, maybe at epic-battles?

We just don't agree that there is a need to do this. It isn't the same as not understanding you. I think I understand you point quite well. I don't agree with it or see the need for it.

There is no REAL need for it. It's just for fluff purposes.

Which is 100% why we shouldn't do it for existing lists and why it should be viewed cautiously for new lists.

Sounds like a fun option for the Salamanders and I'd be curious to see what the effect of drop pods are on Terminators as a unit.

I don't have a problem with Terminators getting a pod option (Teleport is still superior IMO) but I am against changing the lists every time the designers go wild in 40k and release a new codex.

Terminators not having  drop pods isn't widely received as a problem. Codex changes in 40k happen too frequently to be translated directly into the lists - this causes confusion and we should test the proposed introductions before anyway.

We are not playing 40k, only a game loosely based on it.

Only want to point out, that Chaos Terminators in the updated Black Legion armylist are allowed to use Dreadclaw Drop Pods. :)

They have always had this ability, the list was tested with them having it and they have to pay for the ability.

Its not really the same issue at all so I don't really see the point.

This is largely a problem with Drop Pods in the core Marine list too. :)

I think that podding terminators would be appropriate in a Space Wolves list, as the Space Wolves hate teleporting.  Plus, they were the premier drop legion back in WD126.

Yep, my SWs are my Drop Rgt, based on the old fluff ... including WD 126 ... However, my Terminators always teleport ...  :)

I think the drop pods rule should allow for any infantry or dreadnought unit to be dropped, then individual lists decide what formations can use it. Flexibility for scenarios and the future, restrictions for each list.

Just to be a rules lawyer, even if Terminators were allowed in drop pods, the codex SM list doesn't allow it.  Drop Pods are bought as part of the "plus transport" entry, which Termies don't have.

Whether or not it's allowed in the Codex list, I think it is appropriate in some variant lists.  For example, I included Drop Podding Terminators in the Ravenguard list I submitted to the Fanatic competition.
