I've not seen them before - nice work Rec. - especially the panel lines. :) :)
All I'd add would be a couple of 40K transfers.

Cheers guys  :D
Good idea Vanvlak, think I'll ask my mate if he has any spare transfers from his 40k army, something tasteful would be good to break up some of the smoother expanses of the hull.

If you don't manage to get any pm me, I might scrounge up something.
:D

Here's an example of their use on an Epic model I'd once entered for an Epicomp - my one and only  :p Tau Sunfish transport.

Nice one mate, I'll let you know if I'm stuck :)

Love the Sunfish btw, very nice paint job. Does it exist already or is it one of your own creations? (I havent seen anything like it before).

Just drop me a line.
Thanks - and the Sunfish is yet another completely unoficcial non-existing and rule-free model. At least the name fits the Tau name-type.
The camo is dead easy. White undercoat, different coloured undercoat on some areas only, the good old flesh or chestnut wash all over.  :p

So - any more ships done yet ?

Hey Vanvlak, looks like I'll be ok for transfers, my mate supplied me with a few at the weekend. Now for some experimentation on those flat areas of the protectors I reckon...(once I've modified one, I'll post it for comments)
Offer was most appreciated however, very decent of you!  :D
Nah, no more Tau ships done yet, they take a while. I have a custodian waiting for attention though, reckon it'll be next when I have time.
The only other thing for BFG I've finished are a few new defences for navy/ chaos. There's a Battlestation (bigger version of space station, ripped off from Masters of Orion 2!), an Augur array and a Sentry station.
If you're interested (or anyone else is for that matter) let me know and I'll post 'em up with the rules to go with them.   :;):

Hi,
Nice work Rec, good clean lines.  I agree transfers will help, but also, don't forget to use a bit of drybrushing to bring out the detail.  Take a look at the leading edge of Vanvlak's model, and note how the detail is highlighted there.
Good work & thx for sharing,
CF

Hi Rec,
hadn't seen this post - sorry!
Good to hear you're ok for transfers. And of course pics of these BFG beasties you mentioned will be MUCH appreciated.

And we have to see the Tau with transfers too of course :)

Hey,

I havent done the transfers on the protector yet, but I've got a pic of the battlestation, I'll start a new topic for it.

Cool,

On the Castellan:

my castellan has the Tau Markings casted into the round things on the brownish part.

Where are yours?

The transfers is a rather neat idea.

Hi,

I'm afraid the markings were missing from my ships - had a few casting problems with some of them. One protector arrived all melted looking, I'm told it had been taken out of its mould too early, though I'm no expert on the resin casting process.
