One of the current ERC revisions to the Eldar is the Swords of Vaul formation which replaces the previous falcon and fire prism formations.
It is currently listed at 5-6 vehicles. Any mix of falcons for 50 points or fire prisms for 65 points, and upgrade 0-2 falcons to fire prisms at no points cost.
The original falcon formation was 5 falcons, but this was upgrade to a potential of 6 because of spirit stones being removed and because Specialist Games sells grav tanks 3 to a pack. The original revision proposal was 4-6 falcons, but this was felt to be too powerful. There have been some complaints that 5-6 just seems unnecessary and that the number should be simply set at 5 or 6.
What do you think? Vote now. 1. Set at 5 units 2. Set at 6 units 3. 5 or 6 units players choice

Don't muck around with the formation size. It will screw up people's armies as they have them painted It's a prime way to piss off veteran gamers.

I think the formation size is already 'screwed' with by creating the Swords of Vaul formation type. With that said, 5 OR 6 strikes me as the way to go - the Biel Tan are structured, disciplined warriors. IMO they would want things in defined set numbers.

I was upset when they moved the Guardian and Aspect formations from 9 to 8 in the lists prior to Swordwind. I liked having everything has multiples of 3.
That being said 5-6 is good, if only to keep people from getting upset.

Yep I love 5-6 units as well because I am going to whoop you with it.
This is a biel tan list people it really shouldnt be as tank heavy as it is under the revisions. Frankly under the revised rules we should just rename the list as the yme-loc craftworld list and it would make more sense.

By the way I vote for 5 OR 6, not 5 to 6. If people want their tanks in threes then let it be a formation of 6 - I don't care. But the flexibility of the formation size will encourage their use too much and -like Yme-Loc said- make it less Biel-Tan'ish (can that be a word?).

Ok votes and commentary have convinced me that changing the formation size is just going to annoy more people than it would please.
Also, Eldar armour formations were widely considered to suffer more from the spirit stone loss relative to other formations, so perhaps this slight variability in formation size will help offset that somewhat.
In any case this decision will do for now. Thanks for the votes. No change.
