Thanks. I need to figure out a good way of painting the "blade" on the scything talons. I've been experimenting on the leg in the frint of the pic. I want them to look "stringy" and organic but that is a bit tricky to get right. I guess I ust have to keep trying though: Practice makes perfect :D :;):

Claws.  Hm.  I'd probably go with a 'grooved' brushstroke effect - if you've ever looked at the 3rd ed Codex: Tyranids.

I'm still not quite happy with the claws but I guess I just have to keep trying untill I come up with a good solution.

In the mean time I've been working on the last boi tank type for my army. Also the type that's been causing me the most headaches. The Dactylis was always the very worst of all the Tyranid models so coming up with something suitable has proven extremely difficult. In the end I've decided to forget about the whole catapult-themed weapon altogether. Although the deathspitter is an easily recognizable 40k component, I still think it is the best candidate for a new weapon: After all there's plenty of "gun" style weapons in the army already. It'll never be any masterpiece but it'll have to do :;): Still some tinkering to do before it is ready for an undercoat though .

Broodlord bodies actually. Originally I was going to use Genestealer bodies for these but since they come with the hind legs attached to the body I had to discard the idea.

Looking at them some more I think I'm going to move the gun a bit backwards and shorted the hind legs a bit more to make the creature look heavier.
