ok... I remember moaning about this quite a few years ago and didn't get flamed, so taking a risk of doing it again.

Do we really need all those pinned articles? I don't have a big screen size so every time I visit the page, I have to scroll down each time. And when I return to it, scroll down again. It gets a bit tiresome after a while.

I understand pinning the regular asked questions like paint strippers and web sites.

Can we just have one seperate pinned thread called say "Featured discussions" with links to the remaining pinned discussions?

Simply click on "New posts" when you hit the site and you will never notice them anymore. You only get the newest threads since your last visit.

Actually I've never noticed that there were so many pinned posts before you mentioned it.

It is a fair comment. We go through phases of pinning the interesting threads, then shifting them all over to the archived sections. Perhaps it is time for another archive. I will do this... as soon as I have sorted out the current archived threads.

Technically you shouldn't miss anything with this feature as long as you are logged in.

I only look at the individual forums when I want to find a specific post - and even then I mainly use the search function.  The 'new posts' here is much better than the 'active topics' over at SG as it keeps topics marked as new for a while after a visit and allows you to mark all topics as read.

I prefer using New Posts as well. Sometimes I miss a couple of new posts, but not usually.

Hehe me again and complaining about pinning.

The problem with using the New posts feature is that I only check three forums (in Epic Painting and Miniatures  ) so wading through the new posts in all forums is probably worse than scrolling down.

Even on a 19 inch monitor with window maximised at 1280x1024, I only see the first two unpinned items!! Probably due to the new design as the heading stuff takes quite a lot of space too.

Anyway, can we have a look at unpinning a few threads?

Can you let me know which boards are the worst offenders, and I will do some strategic clean up.
