Like the decimator - however why not have the gun fixed like an assault gun and not turreted? Off centerline always looks nifty reguardless.

As to the 'wheel - the list has 'em in units of 1-3 so guess how many I'd like :)

A second, more over the top set of guns would be really cool.  Id definately purchase a couple of these off you either way though :)

I really like the decimator concept- particularly the storm hammer reference :)  It would be cool to have some big cabling/generators coming out of the back of the gun- something arcane and almost skaveny is how Ive always imagined this beast.

On a separate issue, I'm about to start work on the Decimator. Here's a rough sketch (very rough!) of the kind of thing I thinking of. Any suggestions?

It looks kind of like a Stormhammer with only one turret and a dozer blade added. Not that that's a bad thing.

Older versions of the BL list had the following description of the Decimator:

New Chaos war engine, very tank like, but big and imposing and slightly mad, with plenty of spikes etc. Imagine a steam-punk chaos 1st WW tank and you?ll start to get an idea of what I?m thinking of

It's been awhile since I read them, but wasn't the Decimator described in one of Abnett's Tanith books?

The side guns need to be able to traverse in a single direction so I would add them as a single turret or perhaps some stacked dual turret.

The gun looks good and I like the idea of it being offset like that. Also provides space to put some small self defence turrets on the front of the vehicle.

The vehicle should have some sort of boiler or external fuel tank that illustrates the Critical Effect. I actually took the tank from a Cadian Flamer and used it on my tanks.

Looking forward to seeing some more of this

It's an awesome model, Reaver! :)  However, I'll have to go against the general enthusiasm for getting a cast off you; no disrespect to your model or modelling skills (or casting skills, com to that :;): :D ); it's just that if I ever add any death wheels to my Chaos armies, I'd really like the opportunity to mess about with my bits boxes that these models present.

Still, yours is pretty darn good to say the least!

The Decimator looks good.  I especially like the dozer blade.  I think it needs something more to set it apart from Imperial SHTs, though.

A lot of the conversions I've seen have the tracks slanted forward (see WMN's).  This gives them a very distinct look.

Its intended to be an old, and no longer used, Imperial SHT so having it look like one fits in with the background.

And that nicely reflects the nature of chaos!

This will sound odd, but I like the cream color of Reaver's resin. My Smooth-On titanium white just isn't as attractive. Until painted.

I had planned to build a Decimator out of a Stormsword. But the addition of a dozer blade has some merit :)

Giving it a more WWI style would still fit the description.  That style was outdated within a couple of decades, let alone 10,000 years.

I'm not saying it shouldn't have an Imperial style chasis.  I just think a set of "retro" tracks would give it an old and distinctive look.

Just my opinion.

And the Imperium is known for its ability to change designs :-)
