Well, I am not new to BFG, but I am new as a greenskin. 
After some disastrous results playing with my proxy orks, I decided to do 2 things:
1) build them regardless of results since they are cool
2) ask for advise
My plan for a fleet is as follows:
GORBAG's REVENGE
- Warlord + extra RR
- Extra shield
KILL KROOZER #1
- warlord
- Extra shield x1
KILL KROOZER #2
- warlord + extra RR
- Boarding parties (+1 boarding)
5 ROKS (I have loads of stuff in my bits box, and they are suitably orkish)
10 RAMSHIPS (2-3 squadrons of the buggers)
Roks and ramships are there because I really like the buggers. I decided on Gorbag's revenge to get some air cover for my fleet. the 2 kroozers will be squadroned, with the extra shielded one to the fore to be blasted to pieces while they approach the enemy lines to board (yes, they will be this subtle). Ramships will try to destroy enemy escorts before scrifying themselves agains tthe enemy cruisers.
Do you think this will work? I have yet to test a big ship for my orks but roks have been disapointing so far  A pitty.

PS: Before you suggest it, Ihave already read the Green & Mean tactics article. I still lose with them against my regular opponents, though.

erm...my advice is another Kill Kroozer, and lose 2 or 3 rocks...
you need a bit more firepower
but thats all i can say

I may not be the best person to comment... since I am not a full time Ork player, and I dont like Roks or Ramships...
My Ork fleets tend to revolve around Ravager and Savage Gunships, with some of the larger Kroozas.
Still, with Orks, you will need to co-ordinate, hit a small part of the enemy fleet with everything that you can. Orks are fairly random, so you will want to maximise your chances of the critical dice rolls.
What fleet will you be going up against?

No orks or ramships? Ther epithome of ork mentality? Va de retro, CyberShadow!! :lol: LMAO
My regular opponents are Imperials, Chaos and Eldar. The usual suspects, really. There is a wannabe tau player, but he has been saying that he will be playing Tau for so long that we thionk he will never build his fleet. No weird stuff like Nids, DE, necrons or demiurgs.

Againts IN: blast at the big ones
Against CSM: Blast at the ones they have most of
Against Eldar: Blast at things that move too much
