Whenever it is cold here, although not as cold as in Finland, I spray in the garage (while wearing a mask), with the door open, if it's not too cold, and bring it in to dry...

I find that a warm sunny day with a slight breeze is best for spray painting outside. I leave them outside to dry. ?
If it is very hot, I'd bring them in to dry if painting plastics.
But metal should be all right...

All my F/W resin, save for the Manta will be hand-painted.
And I'll spray them with clear flat outside in a box so the spray does not blow them away, then bring them inside to dry. ?
Yes, I know Western Europe is getting hit with a "heat wave" on an unprecedented level.
I've been lucky and the huge "black out of 2003" missed us, but my garage got slightly "flooded" by weeks worth of monsoon-like rain. I needed to clean out the garage anyway! ?
I set up a nice "Painting Station" in there for inclement weather. ?
Much better than the "ad hoc" set up I had before!
However it is a sunny 80+ degrees here and I'm about to turn on the AC! ?

I'll hand paint most of my Epic F/W resin with a touch of "flow enhancer." I used to hand paint all my Epic then hit them with Clear Flat spray. Now I base coat, usually black, gray, or tactical colors. I wash with black or brown or both, depending on the base color. Then dry-brush, detail and add transfers... ?
Unfortunatley weather is always is a factor. I spray base coat a lot of models during nice weather, so I always have a reserve on the production line. I'm still slowly working thru my E-40K Orks... like a snail on a hot day!

Quote (Athmos @ 15 2003 Aug.,11:05) | I can't realy tell about wife and children and such since i only got back to the hobby recently and in fact had just start assembling my new epic army... but my wife certainly look at me like if i came fromanother galaxy when she saw that i was actually adding small modification (tabards on every single marine i do) to 6mm minis... | Hey athmos...Ive been thinking about doing this to a few Command figures for DA...can you detail what and how you make the tabards?
Would be a good way of making SoB too...

Hey athmos...Ive been thinking about doing this to a few Command figures for DA...can you detail what and how you make the tabards?
Would be a good way of making SoB too... | The way I currently make tabards etc:
1: spread some vasaline over a surface & roll out a thin sheet of green stuff. 2: Leave for 2-3 hours so the epoxy starts to cure 3: Cut out the size tabard you require. Cut it larger than the gap you have so you can add folds etc. 4:Apply to figure, bending into position. 5: Use a wet cocktail stick to squash one end / area onto the main armature so it stays in place. This can sometimes need a little touching up. 6. Final details (folds etc) can now be sculpted on using a moist needle.
ta da!
Using this method with the big thin sheet also means you can create lots of tabards at once if you're doing an entire army.

i'm afraid i'm not as skillfull as tuffskull.
I simply roll out a thin sheet of green stuff on a wet surface (vaseline might probably work better, but water seems sufficient for me to prevent the GS from sticking too much on the flat surface).
I then cut the tabards with an X acto knife;
And then apply on the mini. I do this by picking the GS bit, and then aaply it onto the mini, with about the same ethod as Tuffskull.
Only then i let it cure a little before corecting any little deformation that occured during the "applying" and add more details if i feel lucky enough not to bust all my work doing so. That's the main difference with Tuffskull method (plus the fact i don't let it cure before)
