I suppose I would've made a "lateral" assault, moving the Supa-Stompa towards the Gargant, to bring all those Brood creatures into "direct engagement"


That wouldn't work.  The Supastompa needed its full charge forward and the consolidate move to make it  far enough to stop TSNP.  The Stompas couldn't barge, so they didn't have distance.  They might have won the assault, but wouldn't have achieved the goal.

I agree that if they were going to use the Warbands as fire platforms that Big Guns formations would have been better.  I think he wanted a multipurpose formation.

I don't think you guys are following my points on the barrages.

It only takes a small cluster of troops to draw a template.  It's a minor increase in hits and more than worth it.  You must have at least one unit in LoS.  That gives further restriction.

You can't assume optimal placement on the Dom/Dules.  If templates are a real threat you just arrange them differently.  They are WEs with 15cm coherency.  Cluster the Dules so they represent the largest target and you can never place a template on the Dom.  All additional templates must touch the first and the Dom is more than a template flip distance away.  Until you whittle down the Dules, the Dom is invulnerable to barrages.

Third hit?  How much air are you assuming?  Firing AP from Fightabommas, that would take 300 points of FB just to average 2 kills, assuming no cover or armor saves.  You'd need only slightly less points in Thunderbolts.

I would have moved the Blitz Brigades much father into sides. And kept one Ork formation at least in the forest near the blitz. Second in then centre buildings and Stompas between with Gargant in side. Then move in three pronged attack. With Stompa and Gargant in centre and both blitzes to outflank the Nids. And target one swarm with all soopas to kill the warriors. Use Zzaps as was used actually there :).


That's an interesting strategy.  It certainly would have been different.

Btw, how many spores you had? The list doesn't mention.

Whoops.  It was about 12.  About half of them were left because the Nids failed quite a few spawning attempts.
