Charad, nice model! It looks quite different from mine (not a bad thing) - more jagged and less curvy. Hurry up and finish it!
---------
Another round of apologies for the blurry pics, but I could not get this model to photgraph properly. I may have to suck it up and buy a new camera with macro functions (a cost I do not wish to incur).
The Perditor.

Top down shot. It is made primarily from Talos parts (big surprise). You can see the widowmaker gun on top here, with a skeleton strapped to the frame (between the barrels).

The body is the main body of the Talos, the top assembly cut off (it ended up on the Executor), the engine trimmed, then adorned with Warmaster skulls (from the undead warriors).

Here are some Banshees for scale. The blades are attached to the gun arms from the Talos. I had two Talos models so I used both, sliced the spiral gun off (became the widowmaker), then cut the barrels down to attach to the blades.

On the back there is a small 'cage' that houses three Tallarn Imperial Guardsmen. Once again, you'll have to trust me since the shots are so blurry but they are there. I swear!
That miserable cage took forever to build. I built a frame with cut straight pins, then used flashing to give it that uneven look. I had to paint the guardsmen first, however, otherwise they would have been looking a little gray in there... Sadly, it is a detail most people will miss.

Last shot. There are some things I really like about this design: the model looks creepy, Dark Eldar-ish, and can be easily duplicated by anyone with the parts. ?There are enough details on the metal to make painting it quite easy (even for me!). However, there are some things I don't like about the model: for one it is too big IMO. ?You can see it here in this pic next to a GW Warhound - obviously the Perditor is bigger even though it is only a DC2 War Engine. ?I could justify I suppose by saying it damage capacity is not always reflective of size, but it still bugs me. Another thing I don't like is I mixed scales for the bodies - Warmaster is 10mm and Epic is 6mm. ?There are little 10mm skulls and a 10mm skeleton attached to the Perditor, but then there is a 6mm guardsman being cut in two on one of the blades. ?Oh well.

I will have to go back and re-shoot the models, but anyone who needs detailed shots will have to wait until I can equip myself properly. If I am going to have clear shots for Epic: Raiders I suppose I need to suck it up and go buy a good camera, but I need to save up for it... Hopefully by August/September.
Last night it dawned on me that -in order to finish on time- I need to crank out one category of Dark Eldar models every 3 days!! If anyone wants to send me money so I can be independently wealthy, feel free to PM me.

I have seen your models and would be honored to have them in Raiders. the are very well done. The modeling section isn't just going to be about making scratch built models - proxies are a way of life for experimental lists and faster to put together. Some people might get turned off from the DE having to build all this stuff and proxies are an excellent alternative.
So the short version is: thank you, yes. I think Frank and Erik would say thanks too (I'll mention you volunteered).
If you want to include any of your own personal notes I'll be happy to include them with the pictures - problems, insights, costs, time to construct, etc.

Hey Moscovian, you might get a better result if you get a sheet of medium grey paper and use that as the backdrop for your figures.....the camera is obviously having trouble working out what to try focusing on.
If it helps at all I am building a NetEpic DE army. Nothing earthshaking yet, just lots of Warriors and Wyches, some Reaver conversions and some Razorwing proxies, though the multipart Raider kit is coming along ok.

Frank certainly says yes. For someone who has a bucket of free time on his hands, he doesn't seem able to get very much done.
In other news, jaw droppingly excellent work on the models, everyone! Utterly brilliant
It makes me a happy bunny to have witnessed the growth of this project from word document scribblings to...well...beautiful models! Armies, in fact (and airforces in some cases)!

I have reached the point I'm ready to start painting my executor. Weapons and some minor details have been added since last picture. Webway portal doesn't show in that picture, but you'll see it when it is painted. Thanks.

Menacing machine you have there moscovian! nice.

Very cool, Charad. I am quite pleased with it. When you post pics could you throw some other models in for comparing the size please?
