Well... uh - it's still very much in the same state I'd left it. I'd originally planned to make a conversion using easily available bits. I stopped, mainly because I don;t have time to do complex stuff, and am a very poor sculptor. In the end I gave up and turned towards out of production parts and other odds and ends. The main problem is eliminating the 40K Rhino look. Something I have not managed yet. Here's our hero as it is at the moment - or rather, as it was some months ago, because I've since added a few bits.

Still very 'BIG Rhino'...  :(

Hi guys,
this decision is clear, I guess. I was impressed to see that the Imperium options combined got 28 votes against just 9 for the other races combined. And this includes Chaos, which didfar more poorly than I expected. Nice to see the Orks get votes, and nicer still to see 3 that 3 people voted for Alaitoc! I wish I had a spare to do this one (yes, I would.... ).

But - the clear winner, preceeding the IG runners-up with 14 against 9 votes - the Inquisition!

Hang on....

They're manipulating you -

It was an entirely fair and unbiased poll. Anyone suggesting otherwise will be shot... ? :blues:

In order to lose the Rhino-look, you need to change the silhouette. Removing the exhausts is an obvious start. Building up the tracks to remove the distinctive slant at the front and rear would also be good.

The Sister of Battle sprue would be a great thing for this project - the plates off the Excorcist: ?would be idea and could cover a multitude of sins (I'm thinking plates 1-3).

More generally, the cities of death sprues could be fantastic for this project. You can cut out some of the window frames and stick them onto the sides to make gothic arches which would be cool. It also has some great Imperial eagles and friezes that could be used to cover the model.

You're going to need to make something to give scale. Sotec's wonderful Basilica Imperialis used 6mm space marines inset as statues which worked really well.

Of course, if you don't want to spend so much, putting sheets of plasticard to make a shiny, faceless edifice would work too...

Hi Lord Inq, I see you are taking an interest in the new vehicle we are crafting for the Inquisition *gulp* *sweat*

The SOB sprue - grand idea - except that I need to buy it...
Use of Epic stuff - yes, I have already added stuff which is not seen in the current photo.
Plastic and stuff - ah yes, I went shopping this morning.  :D
Cities of Death - hmmmmm... thinks...
Thanks LI - keep the suggestions coming.

SOB sprue - I've got a few of these, and I'm sure there are some parts I don't need if you like. Looking at it, there aren't that many bits that would be appropriate on the sprue, but some of the things like the laud hailers could be good. If you want a specific bit let me know and I can have a look if I've any spare.

Cities of Death - the more I think about the better it sounds. Not too sure about scale though - might want to have a look at a sprue and see if those windows might not be too big to make arches. But I think it would be a great way to get that gothic look and stop it looking like a rhino.

If you want to make it a proper Inquisition Mobile Fortress, the listed weapons are 4x Battlecannon and the Eye of Judgement (psychic cannon). For the Eye of Judgement, I was either thinking some kind of big old funky cannon (a cut down vibrocannon with a satellite dish on the end?) or something that doesn't look like a weapon at all - a tower that looks like the Eye of Sauron could be cool.

Thank you LI - I'll check out the sprue pics on the GW store and see what could be used.

Cities - yep - or perhaps I should dig up the old Epic ruins sprues.

I like the tower idea; but where are the stats from? I must have missed something. Can I also have countless heavy bolters?  :D  :D  :D

The stats are from my Inquisition Task Force list. The most recent one is the pure Ordo Xenos list, here:

www.geocities.com/eoinwhelan

But all 3 ordos can have access to the Fortresses.
