Is it right to attend ReaperCon?

Thanks for the kind words. Time to put on my shoes and go now. Here's the Simpsons quote where I got the title of this topic -

Man 1:   Should I finish college?
Rabbi K: Yes.  No one is poor except he who lacks knowledge.
Woman:   [babe in arms]  Rabbi, should I have another child?
Rabbi K: Yes.  Another child would be a blessing on your house.
Man 2:   Rabbi, should I buy a Chrysler?
Rabbi K: Eh, couldn't you rephrase that as a, as an ethical question?
Man 2:   Um...  Is it right to buy a Chrysler?
Rabbi K: Oh, yes!  [chuckles]  For great is the car with power steering
           and dynaflow suspension!

Let us know what you think. I am following the threads on the reaper board, but it would be nice for an 'outsiders' opinion... and the sci fi Sophie is tempting.  :p

Ah yes, I remember the one you mean.  Very funny. :D

*bows to Otterman's encyclopaedic knowledge of the Simpsons.*  I'm afraid mine only runs to the 20-odd videos I've got...

Brief return and quick note before a movie with Yen (I get to meet her oldest son finally).

I don't think painting instruction will really 'take off' until someone can mount a tiny camera at the POV of the artist.

Artists are people. Everybody is different. Therefore, everybody's technique is personal. So, to be a good artist is like trying to be a good person - self discovery.

I met Sergeant Crunch briefly, but never got back to him. He was busy eating a giant chili-dog, and later, playing games.

The only woman there remotely as close to Yen's beauty was Marike Reimer.

I now want the Reaper Pro series of paint. I had a class with Anne Foerster, who actually formulates and mixes the paint. Very impressive.

A single caster can, on an average day, cast 50 kg (110+ pounds) of metal miniatures. Any defects get melted and the material is re-used.

Otterman can, on an average day, cast 50 grams of usable resin. Any defects meet the trash or get shipped to unsuspecting Tactical Commanders.

I look much younger than my true age.

People were too kind to point out that my fly was down at 8:32 AM. Mercifully, I discovered it before the first class.

Not a bad time, it seems and Marika's strong point is that she paints 6mm ScFi ! :D Oh and meeting SGT Crunch chowing down, could have been interesting !

A random memory -

Anne Forester superglues her minis to a temporary base while painting them. When done, she snaps the mini off.

Marike Reimer uses double sided tape. She destroys too many minis using the tacky-stuff/blue-tac technique.

Liliana Troy uses tacky stuff/blue-tac.

Considering that I'm clumsy in the manner of Marike, I may try the double sided tape technique.
