I must say though that without the said gentleman epic tournaments in the UK would be few and far between.

Another fun weekend of Epic, 5 fun games with great opponents as ever.

My force was Imperial Guard.

Supreme Commander with Hydra
Leman Russ company
Super Heavy Tank company (shadowswords) with Hydra
Basilisk detachment
Vulture Squadron
Sentinals
Sentinals
Deathstrike missiles
Hydra detachment
Thunderbolts

I didn't take notes so I can't give exact forces and no pictures as I forgot my camera  ???

Game 1 Bill Ely 1st Co Vets Orcs

I always enjoy playing Bill. His orc force was was all transported with a couple of blitz brigades and a Gargant.
This games saw some great dice rolling on both side to start with but by the end of the second turn normal service was resumed. Out of a total of 20 formations between the armies 7 were broken and another 3 or 4 destroyed! Bill won the game when my Russes refused to move around a wood and shot at a 4 strong blitz brigade allow Bill to move it to hold his 2 objectives.

Bill wins 2-1

Game 2 Nathan Hoole Dragon Slayers

The CC is unusual in that the first 2 round are random and not Swiss based draws. So once again I drew Nathan early. Not a game I want to remember too much as I got stomped 4-0 in 4 turns.

Game 3 Alan Cameron Bristol Vanguard

Alan had a very fluffy marine army that represented a true battle company with attached whirlwinds, predators, terminators and thunderhawks. However, his dice could not have been worse. The terminators have teleported successfully into position refused to assault despite the prodding of the SC (it was retain). When the tactical marines with dreadnought initiated an assault against my shadowswords with support from the terminators they lost in 2 rounds of combat. The final insult was when the leman russes fought of the air assault from two assault detachments. Game ended in a 4-0 win to me

So day one ended with me 1 - 2 - 0.

Game 4 Andy Garrard Gobstyks

Andy was playing eldar with the rare addition of a Phantom. Again bad dice were not helping him as I got to go first twice in the 4 turns we played despite him having a +2 modifier! The game ebbed and flowed but was probably decided when Andy's avatar refused to engaged despite the pleas of the autarch! So down to points it went and with a difference of only 61 between the armies a draw was called.


Game 5 Matthew Otter Dragon Slayers

Matt's eldar force was pretty shooty with 2 scorpions, 1 falcon unit, one firestorm unit and transported guardians. The game went as I expected as Matt destroyed my small formations one by one leaving me nothing to press home a n attack. Matt won 2-0 in 3 turns.

So I ended the tournament with One win, One draw and 3 loses. Not bad as the game against Bill could have gone either way.

Overall Bill was most sporting, Joe won best painted and the top 3 were

3. Nathan Hoole - Marines
2. Joe Jephson - Eldar
1. Matt Otter - Eldar

So we can finally say the Eldar are beardy and need a nerf  :p
