Epic GT question

How relaxed are they about counts as, I was going to take a nurgle lost and the damned army, but they are not on the list of legal armies.

I'm therefore thinking of using them as Imperial Guard. Most of it is fairly simple stuff.. Ragnaroks as Leman Russes, A guard stand with a single death guard terminator as a command stand, Icon Bearers to represent Comissars. I don't think these will be a problem.

The two things that might not pass muster are the single Nurgle Daemon riding maggots as rough riders and the single giant rat mutants as Ogryns. The main problem is both of these should have more than one model on the base. Will they have a real problem or is the Epic GT relaxed?

The epic GT, and all the other Uk tournaments, are very relaxed and I can't see a problem - I certainly wouldn't mind. The Epic GT is pretty much self policed as none of the GW staff have any epic knowledge.

Also I wouldn't give up on using the L&D list at the GT as by then it SHOULD be official.

Last year the GW events team were very flexible in taking into account what the epic community suggested in the build up ie adding the White Scars and speed freeks and using a more recent nid list

Yeah, LATD should be released soon, and with "official" status. I don't think you'd have a problem using that list - you could always contact them and ask them about it.

Personally I wouldn't mind facing them.

One word of warning, this is a GW event and they can at times be sticklers for the rules, eg there is a LR model so you use that and a Ragnarok is not a LR model.

However as Steve says, we know more about the game than those officiating and we can normally railroad them into what we want.

The rules on counts as say you can use a ragnarok as a LR as the Ragnarok isn't in the IG list but can't use the LR as a hellhound as the LR is in the IG list. The main problem is with basing. It says infantry needs to have 3-7 model. the Rat beasties as an Ogryn stand will be fine as I'm going to put 2 handlers into the unit with spears so it will have 3 models. The problem I've got is with the Maggot riders as roughriders, they are so large that I can really only put one on the base reasonably. I could cheat and make some small wierd maggot things to join them on the base?

Roughriders are cavalry and as such you only need a base large enough for 2.

I'd say that very few people would have a serious problem with that.  The best thing to do would be to contact the tourney organizer and check with them.  I've not been to a tournament where that would be a problem.  I have a formation of Disc Riders made out of Warmaster Screamers with Chaos Squats for riders.  They are based 2 per base (20x30mm) and I've never had a single person even comment on them being infantry (Raptors), let alone have a problem with it.

If you're really worried about it, though, maybe it's worth the bother to just figure out how to fix it.

I should be fine now.. That will be 1 Plague Bearer on Maggot per base and 3 nurglings. That should count as the 2-4 for cavalry

I've got no.27 but that has to be including the 40k event I would think.

Unfortunately when I purchased my ticket a couple of days ago through mail order numbers for the epic tourni were not great and there was still a possibility of cancellation - so if anyone is thinking of attending this one it would be a good idea to get your ticket as soon as.

Or so I was told - hopefully the guy I was speaking to was just misinformed.
