Been working some more on the Imperator. The upper structure and weapons are completed. Just need to finish the legs now and build some kind of a base.

An old Credit card (well not an actual credit card but a plastic card of that size) was the plan. I used that for Caligula and it is just the right size IMO as it is big enough to make the model stable but still small enough to be practical on the table. I think CD's are simply too big. :)

that seems an intresting idea, i thought a credit card would have been too small... im currently working on an imperiator based on a CD... i may have to change it depending on how your own beast goes :) ...

Base has been built and I've painted the feet. All that is left now is the rear part of the legs and a few other odds and ends. I just might be able to finish it tomorrow... :;):

Just ctaching up.  The sabre conversion is really neat.  Simple and effective.  

The paint work on the titan plasma weapon is stunning.  Hope to see the completed model.

You continue to turn out spectacular models mate. The Sabre is a nice quick one, but I think like many of us, its the Imperator that keeps me drooling.

REALLY looking forward to seeing the finished project. Dont keep us waiting too long!

Thanks Tuff. :) Your IG conversions was one of the things that inspired me to start convertiong Epic stuff in the first place :;):

Model is almost done. I just need to finish the base and perhaps add a few banners. Also I think the wires need to be toned down to a slightly less bright red.

Here's a few teaser shots. I'll make sure to snap some proper ones once my good camera comes back from repair (including some detail shots). It might take a couple of weeks though.
I might be able to snap a few more pics once everything is completed but I'm off to Berlin tomorrow so I have some preperations to make today. Not sure if I have time to do more work on the model before next week I'm afraid.


One thing that I think has worked out pretty well are the feet: It always bothered me a bit that the infantry carried in the Imperator's leg bastions were supposed to disembark in front of the titan with the subsequent severe risk of being stepped on. I felt the feet were too big so I started trimming off some at the rear when I realized that was a pretty good place to add a pair of assault ramps. The yellow/black stripes also help to lighten up the colors slightly.

Hehe. Well it is a study trip with Uni so it's a pretty tight schedule, although it would be tempting to sneak away for an afternoon of Epic :D Unfortunately we're on from 9AM till 8PM so there isn't really time for leisure except in the evenings. However I strongly suspect that those (as well as most of the nights) will be spent consuming plenty of good german Beer! :cool:

Any good bars/restaurants/clubs you can recommend BTW?

For Berlin? I'm afraid no :( Ivisited our capital city only once. But if you like shopping then visit the Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe). Its a big shopping mall :)
Visiting the Reichstag and Brandenburger Tor would be worthwile too.
