I voted something else.

I think that winged warriors should be reduced to a 5+ svae and lose the venom cannon (and possible have a slight poijnt hike).  The lose of the vennom cannon can be explained by it being a "heavy" weapon and, thus, not often used by winged warriors.

I'm not convinced by the arguement that nids should be a slow army.  They are a relentless horde that sweeps over the enemy before they have time to fire more than a few shots.

Also the arguement that harridans will fall out might be true for some people, but not me.  I've never gave my harridan any gargoyles, they normally went with my winged tyrant (hoping that my opponent would forget that he is the only AV target in the swarm).  I have always used Harridans as stand off gun platforms or artillery hunters.

But the question is why 20cm move? As it does same (a little smaller effect though) as the main point of my objection to winged warriors. So why? I don't think that 'so they are as fast as gaunts' is sufficient since it has too profound effect on the army balance.

In my opinion Tyranids warriors have the same move than Termagaunts ( V2 15cm both and actuel edition of W40K same move... only hormagaunts have an extra move capacity "Run Rules" for the last editions and extra 15cm before) So there is no reason to create a different move value. They have the same base.

20 cm move is not like "jump pack winged" and all the swarm can move correctly without the eternal last stands ?of ?tyranids warriors in the end of the swarm. The other solution will be minus the move value to 15cm for all gaunt like...
As ?I said it's not like a "jump pack" move and all the difference is in this point

Also I'm rather trusting on E&C to point out the current (if heavily FW affected :;):) fluff. And according to him they nowdays don't have same move in fluff. So from that end there is no pressing justification to change it.

Fluff and rules, both types of Gaunts are faster. Core studio. ;)

Well most close combat warriors are given leaping biomorph these days which gives them a faster move to combat... 12" vs 6" (but only on charge). That means they are at least as fast and usually much faster than termis on charge moves.

Otherwise, yeah they are slower than gaunts in core rules.

Still there is probably enough leeway/justification there to make them 20cm IF it is actually thought to be a good idea  :;):

Hormagaunts, by default, without upgrades, are faster than Warriors can ever get, even with optimal upgrades.

Am I the only person who likes to garrison as much Bugs as I can?

Warrior/Zoanthrope/Biovore gun swarms... or Nexus with some Carnies thrown in...

Yeah but they still would be even if warriors went to 20cm move.

Not saying I think 20cm move is a good idea necessarily, but I don't think it can be ruled out entirely on the basis of the 40k stuff.

Take out the winged warriors.  Leave them at 15cm move.  Allows garrison, but slower reaction speed.  Winged warriors will never be made as a model.  Taking them out would also streamline the list.

People are bitching that the Gargoyles are the best brood anyway.  Slower warriors would make them harder to use to their optimal potential.

3 1/2 problems fixed just by taking them out.

I think it has to do with the conjunction of the EPIC Chaos lists finally being released... *laugh*
