From my mothers side I have Karelian blood, and scandinavian from my fathers. But both of my parents have grown up in Savonia so I am Savonian myself.

Oldest traceable historical records, disappears in Germany sometime around reformation.

German, Irish, Dutch, and there is supposed to be some Algonquin Indian in there someplace (1/64) which would match up with where great great great grandpa lived at the time.
Of course it could have been a lie my father made up to get assistance in college too.  :p

50% American, going all the way back to Jamestown settlers.
50% Belgian, one generation removed.

Previous to the Jamestown settlers, that side of the family is entirely English.  They are also geneology nuts, so I know I'm related to a number of English nobility, including Aethelred the Unready, though I fancy myself a bit better general than he was...

Hmmm, well my fathers side was pretty rubbish at keeping records. We do have some Irish blood in us from a few generations back on that side.

My mothers side is rather well catalogued, and we can trace at least some of our ancestry back to the Norman invasion when it all gets a bit muddled. So I really can't say what % Saxon, Irish, Roman, Celt, Norman or Pict I am. All I can say is mostly English, with a dash of Norman and a splodge of Irish in the mix, stir twice and serve on a bed of lead :D.

I bet he's referring to what I believe is called "The Winter War" of 1939 where the Soviets tried to invade Finland.  They failed and froze to death in snow banks, beaten by a bunch of hot-tubbing Finnish soldiers on skis.

SHORT STORY: Came from Spain, Africa, and the Middle East  to the New World

Father:
- European refugees

- Scots
- German
- Russian
- Luxemborgian
- Belgium
SHORT STORY: His family tried to avoid horrible things all over Europe - wars, famines, blights, pogroms, relgious bigotry, racial bigotry... and eventually escaped to the USA.

Mom always called us Heinz 57, a mixture of all sorts of good things. She had a few other nicknames as well... :D

100% pure, Grade AAA Canadian :)

More specifically:
50% Nova Scotia Scottish (which is moderately mixed to begin with)
and
50% mystery meat (my Dad was adopted and knows nothing of his background)
