3 coats over the light grey, and care is taken that the paint is thin enough each time. I add a bit of water to the mix and continually wash out the brush. Much white paint ends up on the palette... ?:D

Thanks for the reply I will have to try your method again your warhounds are awesome. ?Cannot wait to see those Reavers(the best model ever made IMO).

Ver good. Love the bases :)

What is your legions name? Legio Alba Lovania? (= Legion of the White Lions)
Legio Alba Panthera? (= Legion of the White Panther)
Legio Alba Tigris? (= Legion of the White Tiger)

Hena - yeah finding steel wool without soap was bit of a pain. Re FW warhounds - love the model, but dislike resin :(

I don't suppose you could do a detailed run down of the bases, I assume its something like
Glue ruins/rubble
Scatter sand or fine gravel?
Paint as described
Then do you use a bit of static grass or flock?
Do you wash over the bases with watered down glue or anything like that?

Yeah that is it, see page one of this blog down the bottom for the comp of basing mix:

Ruin sprues, sand, ballast, and cork.

The flock is 50/50 Woodland Scenics 'green blend' and 'earth blend', with a small amount of lighter coloured coarser stuff chucked in too. Any flock would be fine I think.

No washing over bases with glue or anything. Just spray the whole lot black first (and touch up with black paint using a brush).

Another awfully good reason to avoid the whole idea  :D
