I'm thinking of starting a Feral Orks, Having got to 5000 points of Eldar (only half painted), i'm looking to play a fun/mad army and the best idea i've had was Feral Orks (and the fact that the FW gargantuan squiggoth is a really evil! ), but not having used orks before and before i spend ?150+ on the models, i was thinking it would be a good idea to get some opions on what units and unit sizes make a fun and blanced list.
also some links to Feral Ork battle reports would be useful.

This is what I took to last years Club Challenge.
1 Wild Boyz - 2 x Nobz, 6 x Wild Boyz 150

4 Wild Boyz - 2 x Nobz, 6 x Wild Boyz 150 + Squig Catapults x6 150 300
5 Mad Boyz - Mad Boyz x 6 100 Extra Mad Boyz x 5 75 Wyrdboy Character ? 50 225
6 Junka Brigade 6 x Junka Trukk & 6 x Ork Boyz 150 150

It was a fun army to play with, but after three rounds people started playing corner to corner which made draws the most likely outcome.

The only regular FO army around here plays hordes of Warbands in Squiggoths.
Wildboyz, 3 squiggoths, Wyrdboy (on a squiggoth) - 350 points
Then just add a fomration of Steam Gargants for firepower (who could pass them up at their price?) and a couple Junka Brigades for some fast objective-grabbers.
The squiggoth formations are tough enough that you just keep them mounted and move them across the board in the face of fire. They also put up an impressive AA umbrella as they move forward. Assault at every opportunity.
It works fine on a side deployment but I suspect that if people switched to corners as they did with Tiny Tim it would have some issues due to speed.
