Hi MarkCo and Gang,

Yup time to eat humble pie and join Primarch's cronies... ?

*** Yes, but to what degree did that negative attitude and pessimism really help? ***

And, I don't think that Peter will be offended... we discussed this very topic when E-A first came out.

And while we can pass him kudos, it's not like he made an impossible prediction, all games come and go, it's really a matter of when.

Frankly, we ought to be focussing on the positive, which is that we got lots of new models, new rules, game support, and plenty of other benefits that we didn't have before.

AND they're still selling the goodies!

That doesn't seem so bad to me.

Ah well, at least with DRM and EW around it doesn't matter so much now...

Omayn to that!

I just wish SG would make the last push and get the Chaos and Nid ranges out properly!! That's all they have to freakin do for goodness sake! - How hard can it be!!

Me too!

I guess my real question is:

*** To what degree has the pessimism and negative attitudes of folks like Primarch been a self-fulfilling prohecy for E-A? ***

And I say that with all respect for Primarch. He can't help the pessimism... it's required in NY... LOL  :D

I'm simply more of the half-full than half-empty kind of guy.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Yeah I guess so Maksim.  The only real killer for me is the state of Chaos. 1 sprue really is not good enough.

I think Epic:A's goose was actually cooked when it wildly exceeded initial sales targets... GW can't have "upstart" games showing up the "Big 3"!

I missed that bit of WD.

The bit that got me was when they were talking about Jervis and his return from 6 years working on spealist games.

It made it (to my eyes) seem like he had returned from exile and was now working on a proper project.

Yes it may well have cooked its own goose. Certainly few were impressed with the simultanous increase in BFG sales and similar drop in 40k in the US. Of course it could have been coincidence.....

Good news, this way he can make subconsciousness articles on SG.

Maybe he'll do some subliminal Epic plugs...

I hate to be pessimistic, but when it comes to SG support, it's easy to be pessimistic. I don't think the last nail has finally been driven into the coffin just yet, but the undertaker is lining up his hammer.

I'm so glad I'm beyond needing GW"s "official" approval. With all the talent we have here, I see no reason why lists for all armies won't eventually be created.

Can you say NetE:A?

:p

NetE:A

...sorry I have no understanding of the subtleties of rhetorical questions :D :p :;):

In all seriousness though: This isn't exactly encourtaging news. I can certainly understand why Andy might want to take part in other projects besides SG: Sitting locked away in the closet that is now SG can't be that much fun really. Listening to the complaints of fans while being unable to do anything because of the financial situation would definitely make me feel disillusioned about my job.
I do think it is safe to say that online support and rules reviews are now getting highly unlikely. The main issue is werther the miniature lines will be discontinued when SG finally turns the key...

Hopefully the ERC will take matters upon themselves and publish the rules review here.

Idid the enjoy the modding of the equivalent thread to this on the SG forum - being told we should be thankful we have forums

At this point I have several targets towards which to spew bitter bile, but I think I'll refrain.

Suffice it to say, I would like for Greg to get the consolidated, semi-final rules review material together.  Pending that, I'm doing a bit of piddling with the army lists I champion and that's about it.

Well if nothing happens in two months I'll have a break and since i now have stacks of hacking software for pdf's (the font extractor is my favourite) I might get fed up enough to do it.

Oh after I finsh the 2-3 hours of effort the 3-4 Epic/BFG massive articles I've got for SG :) I really should especially finsh off the siege codex considering thats what I got the software for in the first place!

I was e-chatting with Greg and he made mention of the rules review.  I don't want to speak for him but you can feel comforted that things will take place soon (a few weeks).

Bear in mind this is all volunteer work, folks.  It's like complaining the the service at the homeless shelter is subpar.  :p The only pay they get is the garbage that the fanbase will invariably throw at them that the experimental rules that have been discussed at length were rushed through.  Mark my words - people will complain that they should have had more discussion on it.
If things get done by end of March I'd consider that more than reasonable.
