Thanks for the comments guys!

Some more progress with bases now painted. Drybrushing with two greys, then some white on the ruins. Then scorched brown, graveyard earth and bleached bone on the rest and not being too careful about avoiding ruins (or the model itself!)

The two phantoms in the centre show what the bases look like after a little flock is added :) This will be done to the rest after they are painted.

Cheers guys! Now back on track with the Imperials again!

All base metal areas drybrushed boltgun metal.

Warhounds carapace basecoat painted space wolves grey.

One warhound finished as a trial - I'm going with white because it matches the Deathwing who they will typically be fighting alongside.... ( L4 pretend it's just snow camo! :;):)  Also because I like white (conditioned by storm troopers at an impressionable age or something perhaps? :D), though it takes 3 coats to get a smooth finish.

Trim is shining gold. Boltgun metal and shining gold are washed with some 'armour wash' (black ink) to clean up the detail and darken the colour.

3 coats over the light grey, and care is taken that the paint is thin enough each time. I add a bit of water to the mix and continually wash out the brush. Much white paint ends up on the palette...  :D
