Thanks. I hope to spray undercoat the first batch tomorrow so I might have something ready over the weekend.

Here's a WIP of my Trygon with a Hive Tyrant for scale. Also the Malanthrope is pretty much finished.

As a side note: What's the background for the Malanthrope anyway? Some kind of Super Zoanthrope?

They definitely do. That Battleforce box was a good buy. A lot can be said about GW but their plastics are wonderfull for converting. At least I'm having a good time working on these :D

Too right, I got a 1,500+ point 40k 'Nid army out of Two of those boxes.  In the future I'd like to buy another and convert a BFG 'Nids fleet out of them.

Anyway, loving the conversions, especially that Malanthrope - it perfectly matches the FW version. :cool:

Backgroundof the Malanthrope was thome kind of harvester. He picks up the few survivors and stores them in his sacks to devour them later.
His first draft or rules had his background explained.

Basically, think of them as a Super Ripper. Whereas Rippers are quite catholic in their tastes (so to speak), Malanthropes are the discerning gourmands of the hive fleets. They pick up particularly powerful, unique or interesting examples of biomass. Rare, and generally only seen in the very late stages of an invasion when resistance is ebbing.

40K-wise, they're an HQ unit only available if you also have some Rippers. As big and resilient as a Hive Tyrant. Floats quicker than a Zoanthrope. Unskilled, but powerful in close combat. Instant Death attacks with powerful toxins and swallowing prey whole like the Red Terror. Don't have Volume 4 in front of me, that's about as much as I can remember off the top of my head.
