A new and terrible menace has sprung up out of nowhere - a FREE downloadable set of rules for a 28mm scale game based on the Dr Who series. You can download it all from here.

Trouble will be getting models, Harlequin miniatures used to have a range, now owned by black-tree-designs. Not too cheap, but available. I'm itching to get a Dalek FORCE. And Cybermen. And The Robot...... and all I've got is an old model bought cheap - the Bus Conductor.  :p At least U.N.I.T. troopscan be substituted by standard troops.... and I'm keen to get some Torchwood agents.

EDIT: here's the Black Tree Design site.

Even the 2.nd doc might work -  pile of rugs for a yeti.

And how about daleks? We just need a trash can and some bolts...

(no, seriously, there are places on the internet with the instructions used to make the original daleks :S)

A Dr Who sounds fun... but the prices of those models put me off. Theyre almost GW prices... but without the quality :glare:

True, Krooza, that's my exact problem.
Someone once showed pics of 6mm (or 10mm?) Daleks, and that's what I'd like to get my hands on.

Alternatively, counts as models can easily be used for UNIT - and as the good Doctor is consistently encountering new and varied aliens, just about any model could be used with existing stats.  :;):    :D

Thanks for the link to the rules. I would like to see some possible substitute 28mm figures for the 9th and 10th Doctor and Rose. I haven't started looking for any yet. I figure the Tardis can be scratch built from plasticard. I agree with everyone else that the black tree prices are rather high and not so great quality. It would be neat to run a few scenarios with the new updated Cybermen.

The Black Tree models are, incidentally, stocked Harlequin models. I have just one, the Bus Conductor, an obscure uniformed robot with a balloon-shaped head, from the 7th doctor period. The new Cybermen WOULD be grand. Copplestone miniatures might have some good stuff, but they're not the cheapest around either. The Foundry might be of help too... hmm, must look around...

Copplestone link

Later....
Future Wars by Copplestone provide troopers in berets some way down the list - ideal as U.N.I.T. types
And the Back of Beyondrange includes the unlikely-named BOBC14 Martha Vanderpump who could be Rose in period clothes.
BOBC06 Eddie Hackenback would make a reasonable Capt. Jack.

Ehm, in fact i showed you one "in person". They are made by Irregular (and now that i think on it, maybe they also make some doctors and companions)

I wonder who made the decision not to get any more armies a while back...

Possible Rose figure? Cut the gun off and paint the figure with blonde hair and like she has a shirt under the coat. A bit near future looking. If only she had jeans on.
