I'm going in the "I think it's cool" camp with Otterman.  I like the War sphere.  If I actually played BFG I would probably have one.

It's such an imperssive hunk of metal I'm tempted just to buy it simply to have it... that, and I expect that when it gets deleted (probably by the end of this year, knowing GW/SG), it'll become the new Capitol Imperialis i.e. worth 3 times its original value.

But I'm not really mercenary, honest...

However, it does sound like you have some Ferengi in you.  :p

FRoA #284 Deep down everyone's a Ferengi. BTW ... Watching DS9 now ! Quark just won a lot of latinum at Tongo ! :alien:  Back OT ... really ... the K/Sphere is Resin ?  Not Metal ?  And I don't eat anything fried ... even Kroot.  They do prefer us raw !  They can't only kill us but they can Eat us too ...  If you remember the Fluff ! :O  Look at the F/W 40K scale Kroot Baggage Knarloc on line ... it has a behead human male carcass slung on the left side, IIRC ?  For a snack later !  A bit too grisly for me !  :O

It's a downright fantastic model. I love mine (still need to paint it though).

The downside is that it is an utter pile of crap in games. (Can we swear here?)

That is: the only use for it is to hope that it falls on your opponents best model so he cries, forefeits the game and goes home sadder than you at how much of a complete waste the Kroot warsphere is in game terms.

I do not joke. It is abhorrent. Boo to GW for charging ?30 for a model that is worth less than its cost in game. Its cost being 145pts, its worth being -145pts. You give points away using it.

(Is aggrieved generally at the Warsphere)

EDIT: The Warsphere is metal (ie not FW stuff, normal GW 'metal'). Kroot also eat things raw, it's true. "Yum yum" said Kroothulhu

My rule is - if the word appears on The Simpsons, it should be OK here!  :D  Besides, anything 'un-wholesome' will be automatically edited by the boards, so feel free to post without moderating your language. My current theme is to substitute 1950's words for swearing automatically by the boards.  :D

You want useless and expensive? Try the cost/effective ratio of the Tau larger ships!

Generally, Tau fleet = not great bang for buck.

i dont think GW cares how powerful a model is to price it...the materials tend to decide that....

Not necessarily. Some, more powerful, models are not included in forces in the same numbers. For example, the plastic 40K SM Dreadnought. They are limited to three per force, so sales will be limited compared to basic Marines. So, price needs to be higher to get the same return over less sales.

I have no idea why Forgeworld entered this thread. The Kroot Warsphere is produced by Specialist Games-Workshop.
Metal.
