Hi there,

I would love to play chaos in Epic, however there are no chaos models int he current range!

Does anyone have any suggestions on converting, or obtaining chaos models for Epic ?

Ebay is always good.
ChaosOrc (www.chaosorc.com) if you want it now and are prepared to pay a premium
Warmaster - some decent beasties, greater and minor demons and demon princes.
Trading - here if you have other Epic stuff, Bartertown maybe if you wnt to cross trade.

And the Chaos plastic infantry sprue is reportedly about to be re-issued in February.

For Chaos Marines you can just use regular marines. For Lost and the Damned you can use Imperial Guard troops and tanks. For Daemons and other monstery type stuff like chaos hounds, spawn etc. you can use Warmaster figures. There are also some 6mm fantasy figures from Irregular that could be used to make LatD stuff.

The other option is to ask around at gaming clubs and 40K tournaments.  If you are lucky you can find one of those people that has a whole stash of old epic stuff in the garage somewhere that they are never planning on using again.  I have gotten all sorts of stuff through cheap second hand large lot purchases (including all sorts of sort after minis as well like chaos androids etc).

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.

If GW does actually release the Chaos infantry, you still may not end up with enough cultists to field LATD. ?

I would suggest using these models from the Exodus Wars range to create "Chaos Marauders". ?They are perfectly compatible with Epic (the sculptor has even sculpted things for GW). ?

They have guns, shield, swords, and would look very Chaos-y with the right paint job. ?It would give you a unique appearance you won't get by proxying regular guardsmen.

Exodus Wars has alot of great minis and more to come. ?They have been sticking to their release schedule too, which is a nice change from what Epic players are used to. ?

In February, they are releasing Dune Buggies. ?These would be great for some alternate Ork buggies or a light vehicle for a human army. ?Sneak peak pics are on the Exodus Wars forum.

All the display models are painted by "Warmaster Nice" who hangs out on this forum. ?He is also the person painting the display models for the Epic Chaos sprue!

I have the entire line, except the newest (January) releases. ?They look even better in person.

Forgot a couple things.  Exodus Wars has their own section here on Tactical Command.  Lots of info in there.

Best of all, the Exodus Wars chief hangs out here too and personally answers questions as well as taking suggestions!

Yes, between eBay, Bartertown, ChaosOrc, E/W, DRM, you can ask here too, + G/W releasing the Chaos Infantry sprue ... you should have no problem, coming up with a Chaos Force ...

Right.  I've got 5/6 Chaos sprues and I barely have enough for 2 Covenants.  And those aren't Cultist only.  Had to include Mutants as well.  :O

If you want to stretch for an L&D army, I recommend a mix of IG infantry and the Cultists from the chaos sprue.  Use the IG for the troopers and the Cultists for leaders.  The Ogryns can provide big mutants (mixed in with Minotaurs and Trolls if you have those old minis).
