Hi,
I'm gonna buy a FW warhound (yay for me  :D  ).  I live in Canada, and I'm wondering if there will be any import/duty charges.  Have any Canadians encountered this?

In which case it's probably worth mentioning you can only buy FW Warhounds in pairs. :)

They're beautiful, by the way.

In my experience, duty is a bit of hit and miss. Sometimes they charge you and other times they don't. I don't know if it random or if there is some magic rule they follow.

About the closest "official" site I found was the Border Information Services. At least there is a phone number to call. It is a GC phone number, so get yourself a snack, a comfortable chair and time to kill....

It's been my experience that it truly just depends on the Custom's agent who looks after your package once it's pulled at the postal sorting plant.

I've been nailed with $7.50 in charges on a $30 Canadian package from the UK but had a $1000 order of minatures from the UK skate right through free and clear.

At worst your probably going to have to pay the GST but if they even look at it your also guaranteed to get a $5 handling fee added onto the total... which truly sucks for low value orders.

I guess my fate is in the wonderful people at Customs Canada. :glare:

It will take me a long time to actually build one of these warhounds, but I'll look forward to sharing the pics on the board.  The model will feature LEDs...

Just a thought. If I need Something from the UK I order it through a fella that owns a local game shop. when I do this I seem to evade alot of fees, but I am in the states, and I havent ordered from forgeworld yet.
