Well, I was speaking about FF predominance over CC in the list we see. These lists are classical exept that they tend to focus on FF instead of CC :

1) swarms of common brood creatures
-consist mostly in a lot of termagaunts, as FF is better in defense and good enough in attack. a few hormagaunts/ravaners are used to go in CC, to force  enemy units to use their CC instead of their FF. Furthermore FF units can support

2) swarm of carni/haruspexes.
we only see the FF variants of these beasts. It is much harder to engage in CC when you move at 15cm. There again CC specialists are uselless when engaged, and they can't support

3) The only real CC specialists we see are lictors because of the teleport ability, and stealers, as they are quite cheap.

4) bio titans ( hierophant mainly ).
I'm glad their FF power was decreased, but the template feels really powerful to me. Even with AP3/AT4.

1 - I don't mind this build, as it's a good reflection of some of the better 40k army builds too.

2 - Carnifexes definitely need a speed boost to 20cm I reckon

4 - I've been saying for a long while that the Hierophant should lose the template weapon (And be given two Bio-Cannons) because currently it does not match the background, the 40k rules, or the model that will be released.

Not being able to garrison them means they're still gonna be stuck in the back end for a turn or two...

That's better than never reaching CC at all.

As to the Carnifex's speed, I don't recall its speed back in 2nd edition 40k... these days every walking thing in the whole game moves at the same speed. :)

Bio-Plasma is pretty much a close-combat-only thing now, so it can't be a ranged ability.

Maybe a firefight attack of some kind, just to give the Screamer-Killer a little boost.

Yep. All Tyranids in 2nd Edition moved 6" or in case of the Gargoyles more. Only the Zoanthophes, Ripperswarms and Biovores moved 4".

I still favour getting rid of the Carni/Venomfex dyad for a single build 'fex with a single 5+ MW CC attack and a 5+FF.

Not in favour of movement upgrades.

Think the Venom Cannon should be made stand specific i.e. Warrior Venom Cannon, Tyrant Venom Cannon, 'Fex Venom Cannon, and have different stats. The normal epic assumptions about weapons being consistent across unit types don't apply to tyranids.
