BBQ in december? Granted that it's warm (~5 degrees centigrade) and not snowing (but raining). Somehow I don't think that people would BBQ at this weather :D.

I am English. I BBQ in any weather! ?:D

(We dont get much Summer here.)

I don't usually do it, but I have a couple of neighbors who will shovel a pass through the snow on their deck to use their grill in the winter.  :D

Hena:  That would be grilling.  In all seriousness, I think that kettle grills (as they are called in the US) are great.  The flavor of cooking over real charcoal is vastly better than the ubiquitous propoane grills of US suburbs.

True, but I really like the convenience of a propane grill.

Yep, that's one way we do it in the US, Hena !  But Neal, being a true Southerner/"Rebel" (Nashville ?!! IIRC ?) and me a true "Yankee" - NE OHIO, I use propane !  But it got very cold and now snowing here (sound familiar, Finns !), so the grill is in the garage for the winter !  So I have to be happy with going to the local BBQ called "Smokey Bones" !   And it is good !  :D   Being a weight lifter, you just can't get enough good protein ! Like Beef, chicken, pork, etc., etc. !!  Mmmm ... :)

Yeah, really! Too bad there aren't any BBQ places near my workplace.

Ahhh!  Brisket, guacamole, home fries and cowboy beans.*

That was an excellent lunch.

I haven't had really good barbecue since I was back in North Carolina after my step-grandpa died.  The stuff we do here at home is close, but Dad's a wimp and shuts down the grill in the winter (something about -5C and not being able to keep a consistent temperature.  I tell him that's why he ran a natural gas line out to the smoker!).  No local restaurants can do Carolina BBQ right.

Now comes the other question.

Does Finnish Independence Day include fireworks, etc, or is that largely an American thing?
