Hey this is a just for fun idea...

Now you must understand mt wife is a Battlestar fanatic, so I'm guilty my association. ?

I was lurking through my gaming forums today when I thought to myself...by combining several mini lines I can play via proxie the Early part of the Human-Cylon war. ?

This is before the Basestars and Battlestars showed up, this is the early "low tech" style. ?Before the colonies where united.

It all started when I saw this mini for Aerotech

Now I said to myself you know that would work great as a Viper Mark I. ?Maybe the very first Colonial standard fighter. ?

Then I found this one

Ir reminded me of a Cylon raider. ?

So I started thinking that if these represented the early startfighters of the respective forces. ?What would the fleet look like.

Where you can always use the Cyclons from Ravenstar

Or maybe go more primitive by using mongoose's vree ships

Myaybe even these GZG ships

Maybe Cylons

The Old style NAC fleet makes a good "maybe" in terms of early colonial vessels.

NAC Fleet

Of course and interplanetery battle is not complete without grounds forces

This is where our freinds from DRM have come through given us the perfect Centurions, pre skin job days of course.

Now the Human forces can be so varied because according to the fluf they weren't united prior to the war. ?Do they can have great variety. ?once again DRM and EW provide us an excellent source for huam forces. ?

Well that was my crazy idea. ?Have fun imagine the what (Sci)ifs

:p ?:D

Since you're going for the "early" period I'd say go with the Vree ships rather than the Ravenstar ships.  Cool idea, let us know how it goes.

Could be neat... I'm currently being ensnared by the new series of Battlestar Galactica :D  so a game set in the 'universe' would appeal to me.

Hi Luis,

Very cool!

I guess I've found yet another use for my ASFOS Vree forces thanks to you...

They have been previously seen kidnapping cows as Deeloks from my Monster Island games... LOL :D

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Given the fan-base this series has, a Wargame set during that Period (e.g. 40 years before the current series) would have quite an appeal, I think.

A mult-layered set of rules which would allow players to field Battlestars against Cylon ships, supported by Vipers and Raiders; while Marines face Cylon troops on the ground/in boarding actions - there's a big scope there.

Of course, if nothing official comes along, someone with the time & passion could no doubt modify an existing rules-set appropriately :)

Hi Guys,

There are already quite a few adaptations for BSG starfighter combat...

One of the best has used Full Thrust as its basis.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

It turns out that one of my good gaming buddies is a BSG nut. ?Along with the wife this mean I may have to put an effort into this.

I just plan to use fullthrust and Dirtside, both of which can be purchase for $0 dollars.... :D

The problem is in my heart I hate the little starfighters. ?I'm more of a WWI naval type guy.

"Look sir a swarm of fighters

Then send over a nuke and we'll see how much armor they have.... "

science backs me up in this. ?

Star Fighters

I actually like the image of massive battlewagons blasting at each other.

Check this out

Real Starships

But fun with friends is more important so I have to think about this. ?If they what Space pilots so be it.

Of course any non aviator who served in the Air force will tell you why the pilot mentality is the LAST thing we need to bring into the future. ? :D

Old joke:

You know the difference between a fighter pilot and God...

God doesn't think he's a fighter pilot.

:p ?:D

Hi Luis,

Try a Google search for the terms BSG and FT...

The existing FT BSG conversion looks really good.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Found them Maksim Thanks

I may have to tweak a little to represent the Anti-fighter ability of Galatica's weapons.

Have to dig out my Full thrust books
